[Flightgear-users] menu choices
The Lat, lon menu doesn't seem to work. Click on it and no dialogue box shows. Also the airport pick menu shows the airports, but picking one does not change the location of the plane. The xml files are present but they don't seem to affect the FG. ___ Flightgear-users mailing list Flightgear-users@flightgear.org http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-users 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d
[Flightgear-users] re: FG 0.9.8 fail to recognise joystick settings

I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro USB. (The sick itself works, as js_demo.exe suggests) I had to slightly modify the corresponding (adjust name) *.xml file. The excerpt from the log (i set debugging level to info) seems to tell me that the stick had been recognised. However, the stick only behaves like a default stick and non of the specific settings work. It was verified by looking at browse internal properties. What may be wrong? Hoping for help, Stefan Stefan. I was having problems trying to get the Extreme 3D pro joystick working on my Mac under OS X.4 and I succeeded with the following fix. It may not work with Win 2000, but it may give you another direction to investigate. Finally got my logitech extreme 3D pro joystick to work.Took 3 steps. 1. Transfered the xml discription from the 3D pro Win file to the 3D pro file (the description was exchanged). ((So you may not need this change. check the xml file)) 2. opened the default folder in folder input, opened the joystick.xml file. 3. replaced the joystick.xml file with the content of the changed 3D pro xml file. The FG will now use the extreme 3D pro xml as the default. This may be a rough hack but it does work. The descriptions of the keys are listed in the extreme 3D pro xml. [Flightgear-users] terrasync
Now that I've solved my joystick problems (thanks to all how gave me input !) I'm working on scenery. Is the terrasync utility included in the 0.9.8 download or does it have to be downloaded separately? One of the documents mentioned a read me that came along with the utility. When I get it how do I use it? I've downloaded 10 X 10 scenery blocks, placed them in the terain folder in the data folder, but nothing happens when I get to the edge of the w130n30 block which was included in the download. Help. [Flightgear-users] Joystick problems still
Hi Back again. I've found several problems, one the double logitech name that bass.pumped pointed out and 2, the extreme pro mxl file was listed under 3D-pro-win file. Changed that but FG still is using the default file. I tried several changes with no luck, either it doesn't use any js settings or it still uses the default. The joystick file is: ?xml version=1.0? !-- Joystick binding definitions. -- PropertyList !-- Default device -- js n=0 include=Input/Joysticks/Default/joystick.xml/ !-- Analog 4-axis 4-button joystick -- js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Default/four-axis-joystick.xml/ !-- FIXME: dummy placeholder to force a high starting index -- js-named n=999/ !-- CH devices -- js-named include=Input/Joysticks/CH/pro-pedals-usb.xml/ js-named include=Input/Joysticks/CH/pro-yoke-usb.xml/ !-- Logitech devices -- js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Logitech/wingman-extreme- digital-3d.xml/ js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Logitech/wingman-extreme- digital-3d-win.xml/ js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Logitech/wingman-force.xml/ js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Logitech/wingman-force-3d.xml/ js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Logitech/wingman-rumblepad-usb.xml/ js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Logitech/extreme-3d-win.xml/ js-named include=Input/Joysticks/Logitech/extreme-3d-pro.xml/ _break_ /PropertyList !-- end of joysticks.xml -- I.m new to UNIX and xml soany suggestions will be appreciated. [Flightgear-users] fgjs
HiI am trying to get FG to recognize changes in the joystick. I've used js_demo and fgjs , which seem to work. I set new changes. The fgjs session ends with a bus error after going through most of the buttons. The tool fgjs is supposed to produce a file fgfsrc.js which is to be copied into .fgfsrc. I can't find any of these, and it looks like FG can't see the new joystick settings and continues to use the default joystick settings. What or where do I look?___ Flightgear-users mailing list Flightgear-users@flightgear.org http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-users 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d

Hi I have been trying to use fgjs with my logictech extreme pro 3D. I can get it to run and set the joystick, but I'm not sure how to transfer the changes. On the flightgear.org Download page it recommends going to the macflightgear project sourceforge page Link: http://macflightgear.sourceforge.net/ Say, which get started web page are you referring to? I assume that you are meaning the Install Guide? George Patterson --- Yes it was the install guide. I checked the alternate link: ://homepage.mac.com/walisser and that was OK. I was able to download the binaries. Once again I would like to get in contact with some Mac users of FG. I have a lot of simple Mac-UNIX questions which I hate to inflict on the rest of this site. [Flightgear-users] fgjs problem

[Flightgear-users] Joystick problem
I'm a new Mac user. I've got FG up and running but I just got a Logitech extreme pro 3D joystick. FG recognizes it but I would like to change some of the axis and button setting, especially the throttle from the stick to the throttle lever. I think I can do it by changing the xml settings, but how do I do that on a Mac OS X.3. any help will be appreciated. The help files talk about js_demo which was supposed to be in the downloaded package, but I don't seem to have it. [Flightgear-users] fgjs js_demo
Back again. I hope you can help, I've been trying to set up FG on my Mac under OS X.3. It runs fine but when I try to add a joystick trouble starts. The first time I tried, it recognized the joystick, Logitech extreme pro 3D. I would like to change some the control axes and buttons. The read me for fgjs says to go to the directory where it resides. I can't find it or js_demo in the files I downloaded with Flightgear. Any idea where I should look? I've been using Macs from the start and while I know programing, I'm a novice in UNIX. I will appreciate any help you can give. [Flightgear-users] gyro
New user with a Mac. Two questions, I have a feeling of being in a small minority, I would be happy to know some other Mac users. I have FG up and going, but with many questions. Such as- I'm trying to run ADF on the autopilot. All the directions I have found refer to setting the bug on the DG, but the default DG doesn't seem to have one, but the gyro xml refers to the bug? This seems to be a conflict. Any ideas why there is a difference?
