This is due to wind feathering and engine torque and is also noticeable
in a real aircraft.

Have you got a USB joystick, and have you configured it?

Use the mouse. You can do so by doing a right-click on the FlightGear window.

If it isn't in there, it should be. It sure comes up here a
lot (looking through the archives of this mailing list, or
flightgear-devel, would have helped you). Pulling to the left
on the ground, and rolling to the left in the air, is normal
for a single-engine prop plane. It's present for other aircraft
too, but to a smaller degree. You have to adjust for this in
your piloting.

Hi,
Andrew:

I had
thought this answer was answered in the FAQ - it needs to be there - but I don't
see it answered there. The fact is that this effect (for
piston/propeller-powered aircraft) is normal to some degree, although the
fidelity with which it is modeled is a question mark. Also, it is to some degree
argued about subjectively among pilots: some think the effect is too great, some
think it about right. Some think it is not complete. Probably the latter is
correct.

P-Factor, propwash, torque ... all these effects combine at takeoff with
high power, low speed, and high alpha to give you the general effects you are
seeing.
