FLUXLIST: 84 to go

2004-01-14 Thread Roger Stevens
Title: It's one o'clock and time for lunch. Dammdidammdidamm!

Aha

So.

George writes

And now for something completely
different:
Another year is soon to pass. And i ask myself
what might have happened to the poker card projects of
Candace LeClaire, David William and Roger
Stevens

Roger replies

I dont know. My task was to
assemble the rule book. But only two people sent me any
rules. So it kind of run out of steam.

I think the actual deck for one of the
projects was done and should be visiting the various contributors.
Although, in my experience, this also usually gets held up somewhere.
Any other news? Maybe Ill find out soon

RE: FLUXLIST: Amaretti wrappers

Well, I have done this. And it's always works for me.

You just set it alight.
And up it floats.

Dunno why...

30 to go...

OK, all you savvy people out there -- has anyone heard of, or better yet

*seen* amaretti wrappers (those lovely thin papers wrapped around the
delicious Italian cookie) being set on fire, with the theory that at
some
point in the burning, the bundle of ash rises, and if you can catch it
whole
in your hand you will have good luck, or your wish will be granted, or
some
such positive outcome?

If so, *how* does one accomplish this?! I was given an enormous tin of
said
cookies, and this was mentioned to me, but none of my attempts to
accomplish
this feat were successful. Though I do have some *lovely* amaretti
wrapper
ash

Perhaps I need to invite several of you over for an amaretti and
espresso
evening of flaming fortune... anyone in the neighborhood?

RE: FLUXLIST: 84 to go

2004-01-14 Thread LeClaire, Candace
I am to blame for the lack of steam, sorry. I actually have been meaning to
send around a new call to action for anyone who wants to participate in card
project that I started...Better late than never??

I do have a few submissions for the project, but still need some more.
Roger, I think I saved some game rules. I think you said you lost some
initially... I could send them to you if you are still interested in putting
this together...

For those who aren't familiar - I am trying to compose a deck of Fluxus
playing cards. From the entries, I will create an edition of 52. Black and
white or colour are fine. Digital files of playing cards may be emailed to
me off list at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or on-list if you want to share). You
may also send something via post mail to me at :
Candace LeClaire
8114 Devon Street
Philadelphia, PA 19118 USA

Either format is fine. If anyone has sent me a card and has not gotten a
response, let me know.

Though I sent in a contribution to David William's deck, I have not seen the
deck all together...

Shall I generate some steam?
Candace.

FLUXLIST: All Read - Game Rules

2004-01-14 Thread Roger Stevens

Well, Im still willing to collect, collate
and print the book of rules.

Send them to me off-line

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I did have a hard drive problem so if
you sent something back in the mists of time, Id send it again.

The one rule I have still got is from Walter Cianciusi

Heres something I
wrote back then (April last year) as a guide

We need rules to play the game. It should be
quite interesting writing the rules before anyones seen the cards.
Terrorist snap, anyone? Remember a four of Machine Guns always beats a seven of
Timing Fuses. And the King of Hearts is wild. This is because the five of
pumpkins has run off with the Queen of Desire to set up home by the River
Severn. Meanwhile who would make a bid of Six No Frumps?

Best.
