Hi, Thanks for the positive comments on my toy project. Allen B wrote: Why for ages 15 and up only when it can be a bath toy (for kids)? Legal reasons, I suspect. In Europe any toys intended for children under 14 and manufactured outside the EU must be CE Tested. The testing fees are expensive and add to the unit costs so by marking the item as a collector's item and for ages 15 and up I don't have to get it tested. cheers, Sol. --- www.figurepunk.com

Hi Alan, Well done Sol, not only is it a pretty groovy object but it's really well presented and packaged too. I'm extremely intrigued by the idea of an 'art-toy'. These collectable figures are a must for every household, I think! Glad you like the toy. If other people want to see what Alan is talking about the website for my toy venture (called FiGUREPUNK) is here www.figurepunk.com if you're interested get in touch. All the toys I've produced so far are available via the website. Actually this is version 3 of the site so if you notice any problems with it let me know. I'm currently prototyping more toys so hope to have a few more out in time for christmas. Don wrote: Alright Sol, let's see the toy. I must have missed it. Crispin is in an art alumni group here in Mount Vernon that is looking for a money- raising project and this sounds good. We are also looking for some kind of vending machine to sell art. Any suggestions? -Don No Don you didn't miss it, I'd not yet posted about it to the list as I was waiting to get the newer version of the website up. Art vending, well.. Hayvend have been going in the UK for a while http://www.hayvend.com/index.shtml you could ask them for advice. or you could use a gashapon vending machine (like they use for toys in US and Japan) and sell art in little capsules for example http://www.toysnjoys.com/gashapon.html you should be able to get empty capsules to fill with handmade pieces. Hope this is of use. cheers, Sol.

FLUXLIST: mashboy oh boy!
Listen up folks! This morning I recieved a 'Mashboy' (tm) from Sol Nte, Stoke on Trent (UK)'s (no don't worry, few people in the UK actually know exactly where it is either) leading producer of art-toys (no Roger that doesn't mean what you're thinking!). And... and... and... AND.. it's pretty bloody amazing! Well done Sol, not only is it a pretty groovy object but it's really well presented and packaged too. I'm extremely intrigued by the idea of an 'art-toy'. These collectable figures are a must for every household, I think! I was wondering if there may be outlet opportunities that could be taken advantage of via Fluxlistian contacts? Surely some of you must know of various cool shops (stores!) that would simply die to stock these things! Just a thought! Thanks Sol! It really is fab. Alaqnh (!)
