Yes. I have even tried adding the subscription via the UI. No change to
redhat.repo.

[foreman-users] waik_provision_Unattend for Win 7, Win 8.1 Pro, Win 10

2016-07-18 Thread Vishal Sarin
Hi Foreman Users,

I downloaded winimaging from this URL
https://github.com/kireevco/foreman-wimaging/tree/1bd8f0facff80c19a5eccc12c01e8febd00f701e/wimaging

How ever this does not have waik_provision_windows for Win 7,81.Pro,Win 10.

If any of you have these XML files handy or can point me where I can
download that will be very helpful.

As a workaround I have used XML which I get while restoring Image via
Clonezilla.

Here is a snippet of same.

This XML when I am passing to DISM while executing this command.

dism.exe /Image:C:\ /Apply-Unattend:c:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml

It gives an error 0xc135

However the image boots, if you have XML working for Win 7, Win 8.1 Pro,
Win 10.

[foreman-users] Re: Foreman-installer overwrite customized ports.conf (/etc/httpd/conf/ports.conf)

Foreman-installer overwrote my customized httpd config files without
warning. If foreman-installer is going to overwrite files and directories
like the httpd conf files it should at least create backups of them.

[foreman-users] Re: Foreman with separate puppet in HA

2016-07-18 Thread Christopher Pisano
You can have 2 CA servers behind a load balancer if you make them active
passive and set up shared storage for all the certs. . . or some type of
replication. If you do not want two CA servers you still should move your
CA off of your Puppet master if you plan on load balancing your Puppet
masters and have them talk to Foreman. I am not sure what you mean by can't
put 1 puppet in 2 foreman simultaneously.

Have you read the Foreman blog post on HA or watched the case study? I'll
put the link below just in case.

2016-07-18 Thread Kelvyn Tomaz
Sorry if i don't explain very well, has a long time without speaking or
writing in english

But if i put 2 CA in my infrastructure, my clients has to generate certs in
2 CA?

My goal is just replicate my infrastructure, and i stuck in 2 questions:

- I cannot put 1 puppet in 2 foreman simultaneously
- I cannot have 2 CA for one virtual IP (In Load Balancer).

And i don't know to resolve this

[foreman-users] Main Katello server pointing at itself for updates?

2016-07-18 Thread Dylan Baars
Hi all,

has anyone pointed your main katello server at katello for updates? I.e.
added the "Required repositories" for katello from
http://www.katello.org/docs/3.0/installation/index.html by adding
Products/repositories, then subscribing the system and removing all
/etc/yum.repos.d/* repositories and have them come via the redhat.repo
file? Is it even a good idea?

Equally, for capsules is that possible/a good idea?

Thanks :-)
Dylan

[foreman-users] Re: Foreman with separate puppet in HA

2016-07-18 Thread Christopher Pisano
If I am understanding this correctly you also need to load balance the
foreman smart-proxy on each of the puppet masters. But in your current
architecture I think that poses a risk of CA requests going to a non-CA
puppet master. My suggestion is to always run a completely separate CA from
your masters.

[foreman-users] [Katello] Attaching subscriptions/products no longer adds yum repo

2016-07-18 Thread Peter Kirby
I'm facing an issue where when I attach a subscription via
"subscription-manger attach --pool xxx" is successfully
attaches the subscription, but redhat.repo is not longer updated to include
the new repo data.

This has happened before and I ended up just wiping the entire foreman
server and rebuilding it fresh. Everything worked fine after that, but now
the problem has returned. I can't just rebuild everything every few weeks.

I've checked all the log files I could find including
/var/log/rhsm/rhsm.log and I cannot find any errors.

I've tried deleting the rhsm cache and running subscription-manager
refresh, but nothing changes redhat.repo anymore.

Has anyone run into this before or have any suggestions for things to try?

Thank you,
Peter

HI,

I'm Kelvyn and i implementing puppet in my office, but my foreman server
today not supporting all of my puppet nodes (in total 26 nodes) because
this machine is very old and slow.

And i like to migrate to a strong infrastructure to supporting +500 nodes,
and i like to put in HA

The infrastructure purpose is that

 [Load Balancer]
/ \
 /\
 / \
/\
[Puppetmaster and CA][Puppetmaster]
\ /
\/
\ /
[Foreman] [Foreman]
\ /
 \/
 \ /
 [Postgresql]

But my problem is, the 2 machines with puppet will not connected to 2
foreman machines with foreman-proxy

How i change this to a complete HA?

PS: the Postgresql is in a master-slave machine.

Tks!

Was just taking the Foreman installation OS options as examples here.

Ideally I'd run Katello on a CentOS7 guest, but the host OS will be Fedora
24 for which I'll be trying to get libvirt smart-proxy working.

[foreman-users] Re: Katello 3.1 RC1 Released

2016-07-18 Thread Duncan Innes
Hi,

Is Katello 3.1 not going to support the same OS platforms as Foreman 1.12
is doing?

i.e. Fedora 24 for my purpose, but others may look to Debian & Ubuntu

Cheers

It's hard to know what problem exactly you're facing with such little
information, so:

What exactly isn't working?
Do you understand the fields in the form?
When you click on 'test connection' after inputting the data you wanted,
does it work?
