Hi Dan, hi Bob,
Thank you very much for the valuable information. Ok then will will start soon
with the implementation. One other question is there a feature planned /
available which lists also the files of a package which contain no license
information, and a feature which lists the copyright holders (I did not find
such features)?
Thanks again.
Ciao

Subject: RE: Question reg export of license report as file
Hi Oliver,
On Mon Apr 20, 2009 at 08:36 AM -0700, Fendt, Oliver wrote:
I browsed the task list an found a feature to be developed that will
make it possible to export the license report as pdf my question is
whether there is currently some one working on it or not?
Currently no one is working on this feature. We had a version of this
implemented for the old FOSSology UI (version 0.6.0) but it was not
completed, and was never updated to match the current UI and API
implementations. This would be an exciting and valuable contribution.
Further I want to know that if nobody is working on this feature and
we would start to work on it, what the conditions would be to be to
get our implementation accepted as contribution and who will take care
about further maintenance (we need an editable textfile as export)?
We would review the implementation and assuming it worked well and assuming
we understood how it worked, incorpoate it into the code base.
As far as further maintenance, I expect you and us could continue to
maintain it as needed through future versions.
I'm asking because I did not find any information regarding that, if I
simply missed it please point me to the right location.
You did not miss it. Thanks for asking here on the mailing list.
If you want to begin work on a plugin, I recommend that you connect with Bob
Gobeille, the chief FOSSOlogy architect. He can give you some tips and
pointers, and he can answer any detailed technical questions you have. If
you like, we would be happy to meet with you virtually to discuss this in
more detail, provide you with some starting points, tips, pointers, etc.
I would also highly recommend that you join the conversation on the
FOSSology IRC (internet relay chat) channel. It is #fossology on
irc.oftc.net. Most of the active FOSSology developers hang out here, and
can be reached quickly and informally for help or feedback on the FOSSology
code.
Meanwhile, if you are interested, you would be welcome to join the FOSSOlogy
development meeting which is currently held weekly on Thursdays, 13:00-14:30
Mountain time (UTC-0700). We expect to change this in the near future, so
stay tuned.
Dan
