Certainly better than nothing, but I think a real press release is the
best way to get it in multiple sources where it is likely to be seen
by a large number of potential donors. Also, that article doesn't
include the words give us all your money anywhere, so it isn't much
good!

Do we have per-page pageview stats on Wikinews ?

The overall stats for en.wikinews appear sstagnant/s stable.
