Title: RE: FoxCAE Enhancements

Hi,
I need to modify the an_init.cfg in order to read the AW70 stand alone named S1 an the CP too.
I have the FoxCAE installed on the same machine (Windown NT 4.0)
I use the letterbug S1 for the AW70 and CP stand alone (for simulation purpose).
Someone can send me a file with an example of the an_init.cfg
Thanks in advanced.

Node Bus Problems

2001-04-24 Thread Eudilson Núñez Cossio

Hi list,

I looking for detailed information about how the node bus on I/A Foxboro DCS
works.

Recently we had have problems with a nodebus extended redundant (250 meters
length), the internal node bus contact inside the enclosures (slots
conectors) and conection between the enclosures too.
We solve the problems with a simple cleaning and changing a cable RG-58 (of
ten years old) by a new RG-8 for the nodebus extension for channel B, the
channel A remains with a RG-8 in good conditions. But remains a problem
with the DNBI that conects the AW51B (the system´s host) to node bus that
reports RA problem.
We change the DNBI and the system monitor was relaxed ;-). The alarms not
appear more.
But I wonder why is so important a RA failure only for a DNBI station that
compromises the entire system.

How the system use the node bus to guarantee redundancy? It is possible
that our configuration have some problems?

Thank you very much for your help, information and experiencies.

Ben,
What I need is the exact equation.
The section that you mention is only philosophical, I think.
Thanks.

I believe you'll find what you're looking for in the Foxboro document
B0193AX, Integrated Control Block Descriptions in the PID, PIDA, etc.
chapter. There is a section towards the end called Detailed Operation
that describes how the output is computed based on the controller mode
(MODOPT).

Capturing Data

2000-05-11 Thread Eudilson Núñez Cossio

Hi list,
I looking for a way to capture data from historian or direct from object
manager in order to analize this information out of line.
The requirementes are:
Time sampling: 1 minute or less.
Data type: plain text
Variables: aprox. 100
Period of data: aprox.

We are using the normal tools that comes with Foxboro I/A DCS:
Config
Historian
Data Display
(choose current data, sample, fileter point name variables)
Reports
ASCII File
But this procedure only save four variables and we need so many variables to
save completed simultaneusly. This procedure fails when we specify more
than four variables and take so many time doing in this way.

In the past we tested a method using the crontab and prelude s.s. on a PW-OE
(PC Venix) but this procedure writes on hard disk frequently (every minute)
and the computer come slow and is dangerous because reduce life of hard disk
. On the other hand today we do not use PW-OE any more.

I would like to know other procedure to reach this purpose.
Thanks in advance.
