Re: [Framers] Next Horrendous Problem: Color Matching
FrameMaker's color code is ancient and has nothing to do with Adobe's other products. You can use PhotoShop to get the numbers for the FrameMaker settings: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/316029 On Thu, Apr 28, 2016 at 10:58 AM, Nancy Allisonwrote: > Pantone 286C printed from Framemaker looks nothing like Pantone 286C >printed from InDesign or from Illustrator. >How do you keep your corporate colors consistent across Adobe tools? >WHY does Adobe do this to us? [Framers] Next Horrendous Problem: Color Matching
Pantone 286C printed from Framemaker looks nothing like Pantone 286C printed from InDesign or from Illustrator. How do you keep your corporate colors consistent across Adobe tools? WHY does Adobe do this to us? There are loads of mind-boggling pages of explanation online for these color matching problems. Does anyone have any wisdom? Re: [Framers] Cannot get FM to drop the even-numbered blank page
I've been at more companies that specified chapters start on the right side than not. If you don't, and start anywhere, it's impossible to put chapter divider tabs. Given that some companies have requirements for printed documentation, what difference does it make if chapters start on the right or left-hand page? If they are likely to print a single chapter, then I can see wanting to have it start on the recto page, but I don't think that's a concern for our users. I did finally go back to the clean template and reimport it into my working document. The template is set up correctly, and the updated working document now paginates correctly. Thanks, all! Re: [Framers] Cannot get FM to drop the even-numbered blank page
Actually, the thing that is crucial in clearing up the problem is the Master Page Mapping table, which you have to create in the Reference pages. Tes, Fred Ridder, the purpose was to eliminate blank pages and to start chapters on the next available page whether recto or verso. My problem ultimately turned out to be an incompletely updated template, as far as I could tell. Thanks! On 04/28/16, Fred Ridderwrote: The important thing to note is that the "Next Available" option for the starting page is only available when setting pagination from the book file. If you choose Pagination when a content file has focus, "Next Available" is not presented as a choice because that option makes no sense in the single file context (since there is no preceding chapter). It's also important to note that misbehavior in any given chapter file can be caused by something other than "Next Available" being set for the *following* chapter, rather than any setting in the chapter that is misbehaving. Of course, this all assumes that the objective is to have content on every page and for chapters not to care whether they start on a recto (odd numbered) or verso (even numbered) page. -FR ___ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com

Re: [Framers] Cannot get FM to drop the even-numbered blank page
From the book file, check the settings for the next file in the book. If, for example, your file ends on a right-hand page, but the next file is set to start on a right-hand page, then FrameMaker is forced to add a blank left-hand page in between. There are two clear, concise explanations about how to start each chapter in your FM book on the next available blank page, whether left or right.
