[Framers] framer relocating to Las Cruces, NM
Framers, I will be relocating in a couple of weeks to Las Cruces, NM (I've been working remotely from Eugene, OR for a company in MN.) If anyone knows of any FrameMaker opportunities in the Las Cruces NM, El Paso TX area please send me information directly via my email address below. (Here's hoping the listserv doesn't strip that.) Thanks. [Framers] Can I make a setting that will launch 4 books?
Hi, guys...over the next 2 weeks, I need to have 4 books loaded. Is there a setting I can make that when I launch FM, I can load all four books without having to go book by book? -- John Posada Rock portfolio: http://www.actionremembered.com/musicportfolio Twitter: @rockbandphotos ___ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com
Re: [Framers] Embedding attachments in FM that remain attachments when PDF'd
What about just including an appropriate icon as an image (so the Excel worksheet symbol, for example), and hyperlinking it to the external file in the same way one would add a URL? I haven't tried it out myself, so just a thought. I did a quick google (I'm not currently using FrameMaker, so didn't want to take the time to experiment myself), and here's a rather old (2011) discussion about different possibilities: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/942300. -Monique ___ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com
Re: [Framers] Embedding attachments in FM that remain attachments when PDF'd
Acrobat supports embedding attachments in PDF: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/links-attachments-pdfs.html The closest FrameMaker counterpart is using File > Import > Object to embed an entire file as an OLE object, as you're doing. I'm not sure whether converting embedded OLE objects to PDF attachments is a feature request or that it's not happening is a bug. Hi John, Possibly Shlomo Perets can do this with his TimeSavers. I doubt, if you can do this with the regular FrameMaker and Acrobat features. Does nobody know how to attach a file, such as an Excel file, as an icon, that when PDF'd and the icon is clicked, it opens the file?
