OK all. Thanks! That is what I thought - that a tab will work just fine.

Thanks again!

\sn is the "escape" code for an en-space.

Using an en-space will give you a space that is always relative to the
specified autonumbering string, whereas a tab will give you an absolute
alignment for the following text. This matters when you have an autonumber
string that can vary in length (e.g., a one-digit number vs. 2 or 3 digits).
In your case, with a fixed autonumber string (i.e., constant text only), it
makes no practical difference.

Hi All,

I have inherited a template that has been manhandled by a gazillion authors
over the years with tons of overrides, etc., and I am in the throes of
trying to clean it up and simplify it greatly. For one of the paragraph tags
in this quagmire, the autonumbering is set to the following:

Required Knowns:\sn and there is a tab stop set to a value of .65.

When I click to place this tag in the document, I do indeed see the phrase
"Required Knowns:" automatically placed, but that is the backslash sn (\sn)
do? Can this not be replaced by the \t building block and set the value
accordingly?

Thanks!

[Framers] Style mapping: Word to FrameMaker 2017

2017-12-11 Thread Pat Christenson
Hi all -

If you're importing a Word document into FrameMaker 2017, is there a way to
disable the feature that adds unmapped formats to the FrameMaker paragraph,
character, and table catalogs?

Thanks.
