Re: [Framers] When/which was the first 32-bit version of FM?
I'm not sure there ever was a 16-bit version. It was originally developed on a 32-bit Sun-2 workstation and Windows 3.11 supported Win32s. For single sourcing, Flare is unmatched, but it will never replace FM for page layout. However, CSS is a fascinating world. Re: [Framers] Final note about Adobe Licensing
Thanks for the update, Tammy. Glad to hear that somehow at least one empowered Adobe employes was able to take action and restore your license. Let's hope that this indicates that the system might be getting the attention to fix the issue for the rest of us. I received an email about my AdobeID account not being accessed within some past months, and the need to go into it soon, before it's completely killed off. The note from Jules Harrell puts a little more clarity on what's going on. Thanks for that info. The history of the tech industry is littered with HUGE companies that have disappeared when their neglect and abuse of customers became known. Here's hoping that Adobe's smart enough to not make the same kinds of mistakes. Re: [Framers] When/which was the first 32-bit version of FM?
Hi Klaus, >From memory I was using FrameMaker 4 and then FrameBuilder on Windows 3.11. They were both 32 bit versions running on the Win 32S 32-bit sub-system. It was quite unreliable with the Win32s often crashing and leaving FrameMaker running but without any connection to the OS, very weird.
