Is there an entry for FrameMaker in the Add/Remove Programs control
panel? If so, try to uninstall using that.

Trial version was installed onto the VM too I take it?

So maybe your profile was replaced with the trial version. I suggest you
get a chat session going with an Adobe tech and sit back and get
comfortable.

[Framers] uninstall trial version

2020-03-11 Thread Karen Robbins
Hi Framers,

After my IT folks botched it, I must uninstall the trial version of FM2019
without damaging the still-functional FMv11 that runs in my virtual Windows
7.

(The trial either tries to launch, shows the splash screen for a bit, then
shuts down; or opens with the "trial expired" message, then will not accept

No search engine (including Adobe's) gets past promotional and

Very annoying.

Basically something became corrupted in the profile, which is located

here:

C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker

My profile was in a folder named 14. Renaming this to something else

makes

Frame create a new one when you next restart it.

I was able to restore my PDF preferences just by specifying my Print
preferences in the Distiller dialog. Restoring my HTML customizations

was

only a little more complicated. I made sure the Publish to HTML process
was working soundly using a new default STS file. Then I closed Frame,
replaced the default STS with a copy of my custom STS, then restarted
Frame. Seamless so far.

At least my STS file didn't become corrupt.

Frame has started to misbehave (again).

This time it happens when I use the Publish functionality to create
Responsive HTML. To reproduce this, do the following:

1. In an open document, click File > Publish.
2. Click the Change Settings button on the Publish dialog.
3. On the drop-down menu that displays, click Edit. the Publish Settings
dialog displays.
4. Click anywhere in the Edit dialog.

At this point the Edit dialog will vanish, and the main Frame window will
become unresponsive. You can't even click the X button in the corner to
close it. You have to right-click the task bar button (or use the Task
Manager) to kill it.

I thought I could fix it by Frame regenerate the STS file, but I did that
and there was no change.

Ideas?
