Pulling cover information for Running H/F

2011-10-02 Thread Anne Duffield
Is it possible to have a Running H/F pulled from the cover document and appear
in the footer throughout the entire book?

I would like the document version and software version on my cover to appear in
the footer throughout my guide.

I created paratags for each and am using

Running H/F 11 $paratext[VersionDoc]

Running H/F 12 $paratext[VersionSoft]

Unless I have the information in each file it will not populate in the footer.

Thanks,

Anne

RE: FrameMaker 10

2011-04-01 Thread Anne Duffield
Sue,

I have found:

1. When adding tab stops in the paragraph designer the Auto-Show must be
selected. If Auto-Collapse is selected the tab stops won’t save.

2. When compiling the TOC the heading 3 is missing a closing angle
bracket after $paratext [Tab]$pagenum should be $paratext
[Tab]$pagenum. Without the bracket, the code appears in the TOC rather than
the heading 3’s.

Hi Fellow Framers:

I am using FrameMaker 10 for the first time this week, on Windows XP (I think,
I need to check at work tomorrow).

Are there any new great surprises I need to be aware of - any gotchas ?

Thanks,

Sue

Bugs in Frame 10?

2011-03-23 Thread Anne Duffield

I have come across a few issues in FrameMaler 10. I am working on a windows XP
machine.  Has anyone experienced either of these situations?

1. When using paragraph designer with auto-collapse iconic panels
enabled, tab stops cannot be formatted.

I select Edit with the New Tab Stop Highlighted. The Edit Tab Stop window
opens, I make my changes and select continue. Nothing happens.

If the auto-collapse iconic panels are not enabled, the tab stops will format.

2. When I generate a new TOC all of the selected Headings (Chap Name, H1,
H2, H3) appear in the TOC and it looks correct. When I update the book, Heading
3 appears like this:

$paratext.
 $pagenum

The only work around I have figured it to generate a new TOC
every time I need to update my book.

Thanks,

Anne
