Re: SV: extract changed texts
Hi, But how do I change to a conditional text? The alternatives in the Change to box are very limited, just Text, Character format and By pasting - I cannot choose a certain character tag. Or? regards Gunnar At 03:22 03/04/2008, you wrote: Hi, A quick and simple method is to find/change all characters marked with change bars to a conditional text, for example called Changebars. Then select all text in the document and create another conditional text called Everything and apply it to the whole document. Choose to hide all conditions tagged Everything and show conditions tagged Changebars. As a result only the characters with change bars is shown. You only get changed/inserted characters. If you want whole lines or paragraphs I believe you have to go for a scripting solution, either with FrameScript (as suggested earlier) or a custom-made plugin (which we of course can help you with). ___ You are currently subscribed to Framers as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send list messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or visit http://lists.frameusers.com/mailman/options/framers/archive%40mail-archive.com Send administrative questions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit http://www.frameusers.com/ for more resources and info.
Re: SV: extract changed texts
Thank you VERY much, Rolf!! After 10 years with FrameMaker I have finally found this function, to paste formats!! This made my day (and it is still 06:30 in the morning!). extract changed texts
Hi, One client ask me to extract all lines that have any changes (=marked with change bars) to get a rough idea about the amount of text to translate. Anyone has an idea? There are many many pages, so manual mark-copy-paste is not what I would like to do. border around a word?
Hi, Does anyone know if there is an easy way to put a border around 1-2 words in a sentence, for example to mark a button. Example:Please press ABORT to leave this funcion. Here I would like to have a thin border around ABORT. It is very simple to do in Word, but I have not found anything like that in FrameMaker. Any idea? found by search function
Hi, Thanks for suggestions about borders around text. Another question: has FrameMaker something like ^ in Word, meaning what you found. Extremely useful when adding text, for example Search for*, change to [^] which means that all words starting with for will be in [ ]. Any idea what FrameMaker may call ^ ? New formats for a TOC
Hi, I have a book with a number of chapters. I have created a TOC, and it looks OK. However, I have now added a new format, and I would like text with this format in the TOC. Is there any way I can add a format to the list of formats that should be in the TOC? In Word, you can afterwards add or delete any number of formats from the table of contents. Any idea would be appreciated. Line over footnotes
Hi, There is always a thin line over the footnotes. Does anyone know how to change that line? (longer/shorter, move a few mm down, to the left/right, thicker). Text in a text frame
Hi, When I create a text box, the text is always placed in the upper left corner. There is no problem place the text horizontally (left, right, center), but is there any way to align it vertically? It would be very useful to be able to place the text in the bottom of the frame, especially when aligning texts in graphics (my client does not allow A-texts). Any hints?
