In Frame, choose View Text Symbols. That lets you see the paragraph marks at the end of your paragraphs and list items. It sounds like you are conditionalizing the text but not the end of paragraph characters. The ones you didn't conditionalize will show up as black even when your conditionalized text is colored. I generally edit with Text Symbols showing almost all the time in both Frame and Word. Does anyone have a list of rules of thumb when using conditional text ? I When I mark the text the results that I get when I turn the conditions on or off are inconsistent. For example if I have a bulleted list and I only want certain bullets to appear under certain conditions when I hide the condition the bullet remains (i.e., I am left with a bullet and no text) when I want both the text and the bullet to be removed if the bulleted item is not supposed to show up. Hi David, I've encountered the same hanging issue when using the mouse to select with FM 7.0 on Win 7 64-bit. Never had that problem with Win XP either. My solution, when I need to use FM 7, is to not do that as much as possible. I've pretty much trained myself to use keyboard selection (and save a lot). My hands still mess up from time-to-time. I've noticed that it happens more when you hesitate or pause a bit longer during the mouse-drag selection. It usually works if you are quick about it--but still not worth hanging with no .recover file if you haven't saved recently. I don't have this problem with FM 10 on Win 7 64-bit, and I've tried it with a long pause during the drag just to be sure. I don't minimize windows much (2 big displays), so I don't know about that.
