Hi,

If you have FrameScript, you can use one of the free
i-frame scripts from itl to set the default paragraph format
for new text frames:

Re: [Framers] About text frames

2016-04-06 Thread Craig Ede
If I recall correctly, the text frames in graphics are found by search after
the main text flow, so a search and replace started from the end of the main
text flow might allow you to search on paratag Body and then paste the paratag
of your choice. It'd be a one-change at a time process, but could work if there
aren't too many such paragraphs. (I believe I've used this technique in the
past, but memory is a funny thing and I don't have time to test this now.)

And extendscript could certainly do this by skipping such paras in the main
text flow and and ref and master pages and only changing them elsewhere. Rick,
could you comment?

Hi Pat,

ok, I understand, that is true. No, I think there is no way to change
this.

I would recommend to simply copy/paste the callout frames from an
exiting frame instead of inserting new text frames.

Re: [Framers] About text frames

2016-04-06 Thread Pat Christenson
I'll clarify further.

When I create a text frame for a callout to a graphic, it always defaults to
Body. I have a paragraph format called Callout. Can I change the default
paragraph for a text frame to Callout?

I can't simply redefine Body to match the settings of Callout because we use
Body throughout our documents.

To change the paragraph tag for a new .fm file, ee "Change the template for
blank paper" in the help.

Other than that, the paragraph tag for a new paragraph is set by the Next Pgf
Tag setting in the previous paragraph.

Other than that, the paragraph tag for a new paragraph is set by the
Next Pgf Tag setting in the previous paragraph.

Re: [Framers] About text frames

2016-04-06 Thread Heiko Haida

Hi Pat,

a) no (you could write a script for this, or you copy an already
existing text frame)

b) well, you can delete the "Body" format and use this file as a
template.
Can you describe a situation when FrameMaker needs to apply the "default
para format"?
