Hi Caroline,

Since you're already in Explorer, you can drag the book or file and drop it in
the FrameMaker "ribbon" area where the drop-down menus are.

Best,
Louise Kaufman

Hi Caroline,

You may also try resetting the windows file-association for framemaker: Control
Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations

Hi,
A question.

Each time I double click on a file in the Windows Explorer, a new instance of
FrameMaker opens. (i.e.. if I want to work with 2 or more books at the same
time)

Frame did not behave like this in the previous version that I worked with, and
other apps do not behave like this.

1. Does this happen to other people
2. If so, is it really a sort of bug and can it be fixed.
The only way to prevent this, is to always open files from within FrameMaker,
which is not always convenient

thanks

Re: [Framers] Behavior when Opening New Frame Files in Frame 2015. Adobe attention, Bug?

2016-03-29 Thread Craig Ede
There are advantages and disadvantages to this behavior.

To open two books in one session, open follow-on books via the File > Open
choice menu in FrameMaker.

Advantages:
You can have one session tying up FM producing a PDF while you happily edit in
another session.

Disadvantage:
You can't cut and paste between two sessions.

I believe you could always run multiple sessions of FM, but it may not have
worked quite the way it does now.

Good luck.

[Framers] Behavior when Opening New Frame Files in Frame 2015. Adobe attention, Bug?

2016-03-29 Thread Caroline Tabach
Hi,

The only way to prevent this, is to always open files from within FrameMaker,
which is not always convenient

thanks
