RE: Spellcheck oddness in FM8
Do you get the same results after restarting FrameMaker? When we were on FM7, after a long session of multiple spell checks and search and replace operations, FM would suddenly stop finding misspelled words or the object of a search. It was like some kind of buffer filled up. When I restarted FM all would be fine. RE: Spellcheck oddness in FM8
Thanks to everyone whos answered so far. The language setting is set to US English in both Paragraph and Character Properties. I tried Mark all paragraphs for re-checking with no improvement. I restarted FM, and the results were the same. Im frustrated at the Learning feature now. If I search in user.dct or site.dct for just j (which is one of the characters in the nonsense string), I still find nothing that matches it. On the other hand, if I highlight the whole string and click Unlearn, then its found. Where are learned terms stored if not in those two *.dct files? For what it's worth, I create such placeholders using a character format that I can then go look for later. (My format is called ATTENTION and it's bold magenta underlined. I do something similar, and for further insurance my tag uses a font that does not permit embedding in PDF. My production joboptions tell Distiller to embed all fonts and abort on an error, so I am alerted if any such tags remain in a document, and none can get out the door. -- Stuart Rogers Technical Communicator Phoenix Geophysics Limited 3781 Victoria Park Avenue, Unit 3 Toronto, ON, Canada M1W 3K5 +1 (416) 491-7340 x 325 http://www.phoenix-geophysics.com ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com.
