I read them every week as well. And I put them in the entertainment category but he does have an excellent hit rate on his predictions ... as much as 70% over several years. Of course his predictions are not based on his weekly column, but they are influenced by the column. Also, if you have the time, his video series NerdTV http:// www.pbs.org/cringely/nerdtv/ is excellent. It is an interview show with some of the tech world's luminaries. Each episode is available for download. To keep this on topic, the interview with Tim O'Reilly is interesting. Will. On Apr 30, 2006, at 6:59 PM, Bill Briggs wrote: I second that. And didn't I remember reading somewhere that Apple's cash mountain is now so large that it's had to set up a company in Reno just to look after it? $8 billion or thereabouts. I don't work for Adobe or Apple. I do enjoy getting a paycheck. My hunch is most Adobe employees enjoy getting a paycheck. Just what would you and the other freedom fighters do Dov if Apple bought Adobe? Resign en masse and jump to one of the plentiful jobs out there in the marketplace? Stay and conduct guerrilla warfare from inside the company? Perhaps you won't be given the chance to stay. There would likely be a large number of pink slips handed out, and certainly a renegade who writes easily accessed emails would be handed one. You've been a great friend to everyone on this list, Dov. Take care. BW __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I'd say an extremely long shot, if at all. I would be surprised if Adobe ever sells out to anyone. Adobe is considerably more than self-sufficient, and I cannot see any business reasons for them to do so. - Diane = -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Bill Briggs Sent: Saturday, April 29, 2006 5:08 PM To: List, Framers Subject: Wow, if this came to pass?!?!?! That piece is total and ridiculous speculation on his part. And it just won't happen! A very large number of Adobe employees would refuse to work in tyrannical, cultish environment encouraged by Apple's management. Nor would they work for Microsoft (stated to stave off the usual crew of paranoids on this list) for similar reasons. - Dov -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bill Briggs Sent: Saturday, April 29, 2006 5:08 PM To: List, Framers Subject: Wow, if this came to pass?!?!?!
