I replaced all instances of Times New Roman in a chapter with Arial. The
change was instantaneous and the paragraph designer listed Arial as the
default font for each affected tag. Wowee! I see that I can also do this
replacement across ALL open book files. So I can change Times to Arial in the
blink of an eye, across the entire book.

However, the letter spacing in the replaced text is awful.

Nadine, thanks for the question. I just tested it -- the letter spacing is bad in print, too.--Nancy

Solution!1. Save the file to .mif.2. Open .mif in Notepad.3. Replace old font name with new font name.4. Save .mif.5. Open in FrameMaker and safe as .fm. Letterspacing is correct.--Nancy

In which MIF attributes are the old font names lingering?

This really sounds like a bug.
