[Frameworks] a more mainstream film question...

2011-12-26 Thread Shelly Silver
dear all:
i'm looking for films that have young girls/heroines, an example would be
miyazaki's spirited away, but could also be darker/funnier/whatever. doesn't
have to but could be animation. this could include anything from silent to up
to date.

and also, if you want to throw in any favorite stories or books, that'd be
great.

oh, and happy holidays to this great unruly community!

[Frameworks] Processing the Fuji Super 8 from Wittner in the US?

2011-12-26 Thread Lars Fuchs
Hi Frameworks,
I am very interested in shooting with the Fuji reversal stocks repackaged
by Wittner-Kinotech, the Velvia 50D and the Fujichrome T64. Does anyone
have any experience with these films? I am interested generally, but in
particular about how and where you processed it, and what your feelings are
about the result.

Thanks!

[Frameworks] Boris Lehman in New York! Dec 29 Microscope

2011-12-26 Thread pip
Dear New York FrameWorkers,

Thursday night at 7pm, Boris Lehman will present his new film Story of
My Hair (on the Shortness of Life) at the Microscope Gallery in
Bushwick.

This 16mm feature film is one of seven (four are now complete) that
will make up his Proustian epic BABEL started in 1983.

Boris only shows his films in person: if you have seen a Boris Lehman
screening, you have met Boris Lehman. He has shown his films in New York
only on a few rare occasions. I urge anyone in the New York area to come
out for this unique event!

For more information on the screening:
