Re: [Frameworks] Looking for a lab - 16mm scan in 2k
Do you need to scan negative or reversal? Most of the inexpensive high resolution scanners out there really only work properly on negatives the shadow detail on print scans is very poor. There are some scanners out there that do a very good job on prints and OCP, like the Kinetta, though. --scott ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

We (actually, the archives) used Modern Videofilm in Glendale, California. Contact Vincent Pirozzi at vpiro...@mvfinc.com for PORTRAIT OF JASON and NT Audio Video in Hollywood. Contact: Shawn Jones at sh...@ntpicso.com(FILM BY SAMUEL BECKETT and ORNETTE: MADE IN AMERICA -- though they were 35mm, I'm sure they can do 16mm) Both are excellent choices. For the money this lab is asking (more or less 7.500$ for 100 meters of film scaned in 2K and a basic color grading), I heard it is worth buying a plane ticket and do it in the US. So don't hesitate to mention labs located in Los Angeles or New York. hi federico, in london, deluxe do 2k and it's possible to get reasonable prices out of them, they can go right up to the silly end too though. their digital and lab stuff has recently been separated, so you'll need to go to 'deluxe 142' for the scan. i recently had about 600' scanned, it cost the equivalent of about $2250, and it was from 2400' of material with an edl. so although they have minimums, you should get it done for a lot less! i've always felt like they were quite pricey (until reading your email), but the quality is very high edwin Date: Wed, 7 Nov 2012 11:24:57 -0500 From: milefi...@gmail.com To: frameworks@jonasmekasfilms.com Subject: Re: [Frameworks] Looking for a lab - 16mm scan in 2k We (actually, the archives) used Modern Videofilm in Glendale, California.
