And very importantly, it is Los Angeles Plays Itself, NOT LA Plays Itself.
Thom even discusses this point in the film.
LA Plays Itself is a Fred Halstead film.

[Frameworks] Guerrilla Conditions: A Séance for Antony Balch

2013-03-25 Thread Raymond Salvatore Harmon

Hello all,

I am screening my first new film in 3 years at the Horse Hospital in
London on Saturday April 6th. This piece is a commission for the Beat
Hotel series. Hope to see some frameworkers come out.

Yours

RSH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Beat Hotel Series presents

Guerrilla Conditions: A Séance for Antony Balch

directed by Raymond Salvatore Harmon

6 April 2013 (8PM) - Horse Hospital, Colonnade - London

In the 1970's William Burroughs collaborated on a series of experimental
films with British filmmaker Antony Balch. These films, met with
apprehension and disgust, prompted a mass walk out during their
screenings. Causing nausea and vomiting when first shown at the
Cinephone, Oxford Street, London many audience members reportedly
demanded their money back.

On the 33rd anniversary of the death of filmmaker Antony Balch media
artist Raymond Salvatore Harmon, himself no stranger to cinematic
controversy, has been commissioned to reedit the original Balch footage.
Envisioning a boundary pushing documentary that takes the famed
Burroughs/Gysin cut up technique to its extreme. Harmon will bring
this 60+ minute sensory overload to London's Horse Hospital with a live
score provided by the group Imaginary Forces.

When you cut into the present, the future leaks out - Williams S Burroughs

Subject: [Frameworks] Rhinegold

Does anyone have (or know where I might find) a DVD of a German feature
film called “Rhinegold,” made in 1978 by Niklaus Schilling?  We showed it
at FILMEX that year and I thought it was amazing, but it was never released in
the U.S. There was a DVD at one point during these 35 years, but it seems to be
out of print. I can’t find a mention of it anywhere other than IMDB (which has
a
picture of the DVD cover). Schilling is a cinematographer who shot Fassbinder’s
“The Bridegroom, The Comedienne and the Pimp,” and the star of “Rhinegold” is
the marvelous Fassbinder actress Elke Haltaufderheide (Berlin Alexanderplatz).
Please contact me offlist if you want to be discreet.
