RIT also has a great film program with staff that are involved in local arts,
check in with the film department's FVASA, they'll have a beat on good events

Go to Buffalo. There's Hallwalls and Squeaky Wheel and the Burchfield
Center, and smaller independent places in Allentown (a historic Buffalo
nabe) and the West side. However, these places usually program months in
advance, but it cannot hurt to place a call or send an email.

Good luck! Tell Ed I said hi!

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions! I'm looking forward to this trip
more and more, I'm only a 5 hour drive away so it sounds like I may end up
coming back again and again - lots happening around experimental filmmaking in
the area.

[Frameworks] Lawrence Brose Sentence

2014-12-19 Thread defensefund
Dear Friends and Supporters of Lawrence Brose

The Court recognizes the great strength of Lawrence’s character and issued a
“non-guideline” sentence today which addresses the Court’s need to send a
message that it takes charges such as these as serious. It is a sentence that
the Court recognizes Lawrence can handle, again, because of the strength of his
character but also of “the unlikelihood of a repeat offense”.

* Two years of minimally supervised probation
* Continued alcohol prohibition
* No fine
* Continued monitoring of Lawrence’s computer use, but not every key stroke as
before – only a scaled back physical monitoring

There is a sense of relief among his supporters who were present.

More information will be following soon.

The Defense Fund Team

**

We still need to remind everyone that freedom from this prosecution has

cost Lawrence dearly, financially and otherwise, and of the need to

continue to raise significant funds for his mounting debt. To make

tax deductible donations to Lawrence’s defense please log on to

http://ncrj.org/lawrence-brose/ and donate to the Artist Fund for Lawrence

Brose.

We encourage everyone to visit the defense fund website to

catch up on what is new, view the artwork that has been donated for sale

and read the compelling letters of support from notable people who have

voiced their outrage and concern for what is happening to Lawrence.
