Re: [Frameworks] Seeking Grant Writer for Documentary Short

2020-05-01 Thread mariah garnett
Hi Ken and any other frameworkers in need of grant writing,

In write all my own grants (which are for experimental documentary) and have
gotten a Guggenheim and a number of smaller grants, which I can tell you more
about off list. I have recently expanded to write for other people and just
completed a Tribeca Gucci fund documentary application for a client as well as
a Harpo Emerging Artist grant.

Let me know if you’re interested in talking more soon. Reply off list and we
can make arrangements if you haven’t found someone already.
Best
Mariah

Re: [Frameworks] Seeking Grant Writer for Documentary Short

2020-05-01 Thread Heath Iverson
Hi ken,

I have a lot of experience writing grants. Most recently I wrote a grant for
the New York Council on the Arts to create a 16mm silhouette film about the
anti-rent "Indians" in upstate New York. I've also written successful grants
for the Chicago International Film Festival and other non-film related
non-profits.

Can I ask if you are able to offer any pay for this project? I've lost a lot of
income from the current situation and I could really use some extra income in
this crisis.

Let me know if you'd like to discuss.

Hope you're well in these trying times.

Best,

Heath

[Frameworks] Seeking Grant Writer for Documentary Short

2020-05-01 Thread Ken Paul Rosenthal
I'm seeking recommendations for a grant writer who has produced successfully
funded grants, ideally for short, non-traditionally structured documentaries,
but superior writing skills are most important, as is affability.
Recommendations based on personal experience preferred but I welcome all
suggestions. Please respond to me directly as time is of the essence.

Thank you kindly, Ken

[Frameworks] Fwd: FW: [mediaarts] Friday Updates!

2020-05-01 Thread Genevieve Carmel
Hi Frameworkers,

I'm curious to know if anyone else on this list a part of the virtual
conversations that have been going on about US-wide organizing efforts for
filmmakers and media artists, hosted by the NEA and Sundance.

I've participated in a couple of calls (one national, and one regional to
the Northeast), and so far have noticed the folks who are most active in
the group at the moment seem to be documentary filmmakers, film festivals,
theaters, and other film organizations. This leaves out a lot of
perspectives.

There's an open invitation to join the group below (which includes regular
virtual meetings among filmmakers nationally and regionally, a list-serv
and shared folder with documents and resources).

If you are based in the US and have the capacity to do some organizing work
for a more expansive inclusion of filmmakers/moving image artists and
groups within this developing conversation, here are some things you can
do:

1. Join

to
receive updates on meeting details and listen in on and share
experiences/opinions during virtual meetings (the next ones are *May
8* and *June
5 at* *3:00pm ET*), so more perspectives can be involved. And if you
can/want to, join one of the regional working groups, which are smaller
groups (the Northeast group is between 10-30 participants right now).

2. Share here what you think the top priorities should be

in
organizing efforts for filmmakers. The deadline to share feedback is May 7.

3. Share this invite with other filmmakers + filmmaking groups.

It takes time, energy, health, and comfort to take part in conversations
like this, but if you feel motivated and have the capacity to take part,
even to a limited extent, for yourself or on behalf of others you know who
don't have the resources or time to take part, I think Frameworkers could
have an extremely positive contribution to the early stages of the
conversation right now.

Thanks!

Gen

Subject: [mediaarts] Friday Updates!

Hi All!
Another week down! Hope that it was filled with whatever you needed: joy,
rest, productivity, new ideas.
Some Updates from Us:
1. We compiled a list of the top 10 priorities

that have been discussed through the national meetings and Regional Working
Groups. We're asking everyone to rank these in order to *identify top
priorities for the next 6-9 months for collective action* and for those
interested in working around issues. Please fill out the form

*by
Thursday, May 7* so that we can start sharing the findings in our next
meeting.
2. Tell more people about the group! Here is the updated form to join the
group

which will get them signed up to the listserv and updated on national
meetings.
3. Our next National Field Meeting is *Friday, May 8 at 3p ET*. We are
excited for updates from the regional working groups and to begin thinking
through these priority areas.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Best,
Brenda & Jax & Chandler
