[Frameworks] Estar slide film
Hello frameworks hive I am working on an exhibition that will feature a few Judith Barry works in 2019. One work is being rebuilt that uses 35mm slide projectors. The original slides were/are ESTAR based. Unfortunatley we cannot use any of the original prints, so we are to produce more slides. So my question is what should would be a recommended current slide stock to make new slides from that will appear as close as possible to an 80's slide stock that was also commonly used as motion picture print stock?? I dont know at this time if she copied from negs or relied on making reversal copies. Im assuming it would most likley be a velvia reversal these days in E6 chem. Many thanks for any suggestions -- Ben Gwilliam Artist & AV Technician Unit 9B Robinwood Mill Burnley Road Todmorden West Yorkshire OL14 7JA 00 +447834521028 http://thosesoundsbetween.co.uk http://timeinbetweenspace.tumblr.com It takes along as it takes ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

Hi Seth,In the UK I'd recommend speaking to David Leicester at kino club if you have a budget, he can provide all and will install: d...@kinoclub.co.ukIf you are in Newcastle try Matt Flemming who is part of film bee lot. I was worried about the maintenance of the projector over such a long period, and if there was a solution to keeping a projector functioning while it is in almost constant use. This is the projector I have access to: ELF EIKI RT-1But perhaps I need to invest in something more robust - I'm not sure.Thank you very much for your time and help,Seth -- Seth Pimlottwww.sethpimlott.com ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

[Frameworks] 'oxide' E165
Hi all, I thought that i'd let the framework community know that my film performance work 'oxide ii +iii' has been released as new work 'oxide' on DVD through editions entr'acte Belgium. Oxide was the resultant work developed from my 6 month residency at no.w.here labs London (2011). The piece is a process lead work of growing rust on outdated unexposed camera/print stock, growing a sound base on the image track that is recorded and manilpulated as a live sound to the film. This DVD the single screen version of its original dual screen 6 projector work with live sound, here re-edited mastered as a new piece. In the meantime, the original film stock is continuing to rust up. You can read more about it on the entracte website here: http://entracte.co.uk/projects/ben-gwilliam-e165/ With this being my first Image-based release (since everything else previous has been audio only), I am trying to gather suggestions of outlets that specialise more in film video that may distribute it, as entracte mainly works with european/asian music distributors.
