I can't remember exactly which songs you're referring to, but they're probably on this playlist I made. I included every needle drop I could find in each of her films. https://open.spotify.com/user/longpauses/playlist/5thQDvdAxhKdUgFsQgze7Z?si=wT6gfn4XRp-78pvygdxB_A Darren Hughes On Thu, Dec 27, 2018 at 6:29 PM Francisco Torres wrote: > Philippe Bourorga music supervisor should know. Re: [Frameworks] Personal website or vimeo page or both?
Speaking as a critic and programmer, I'm always *thrilled* to find a website. It saves a lot of the back-and-forth when I'm trying to set up a screening or confirm details for a piece I'm writing. It can be very simple. I'd recommend including: Bio: Both a short version (for program notes) and a longer one (for factual context when writing a piece). If you regularly update your screenings, shows, and honors in a CV, post a link to it in the bio. Otherwise, the site would ideally include at least a brief listing of major shows and honors. Filmography: A complete list in chronological order, with dates, runtimes, and format. Ideally, each film would also have its own page with date, runtime, format, a brief artist's statement, hi-rez stills, links to the trailer or to the film itself, and booking information (a link to the film's distributor or even just an "email me to book the film" link). Press clippings: Links to reviews and interviews, emphasizing your preferred pullquotes. Thanks, everyone, for your advice. I've reached out to the NFB and MoMA. [Frameworks] Big Ears Festival film lineup
Dear all, Back in October we posted a call for submissions here for Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN. As a followup we wanted to share the (mostly) complete film lineup, which features visiting filmmakers Roger Beebe, Jem Cohen, Jonathan Demme, Kevin Jerome Everson, Janie Geiser, and Bill Morrison. http://publiccinema.org/bigears Other highlights include a 35mm screening of *Book of Days* (1989) by Meredith Monk, who is performing at the festival, and the North American premiere of a new restoration of Georges Roquier's *Farrebique* (1946), which will be part of our celebration of Knoxville native James Agee. The screening will include a discussion with Dr. Charles Maland, editor of the new volume, *The Complete Film Reviews and Criticism of James Agee*, and will be followed by a walking (and drinking) tour of Agee's Knoxville. All of this is in addition to the typically strong music lineup, now approaching 100 performances: http://bigearsfestival.com In the interest of transparency, we received 80 submissions and invited 12 of them to screen at the fest. Another submission, William Randall's *Methane Ghosts*, didn't fit in the Big Ears lineup so we invited it to screen, instead, at The Public Cinema before our recent showing of Deborah Stratman's *The Illinois Parables*. In the end, premiere status had no bearing in our selection process. Big Ears shorts programs: http://www.publiccinema.org/flicker17/ http://www.publiccinema.org/wow17/ http://www.publiccinema.org/kids/ Thanks, everyone, for your interest. We plan to keep our submission form free and open throughout the year, so please keep The Public Cinema and Big Ears in mind as a venue for your work. http://www.publiccinema.org/submit/ Darren Hughes & Paul Harrill *The Public Cinema* ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
[Frameworks] Seeking 16mm print of Begone Dull Care
Good morning, We just discovered that the print of Evelyn Lambart and Norman McLaren's *Begone Dull Care* we'd planned to screen at Big Ears Festival next month is unavailable. Any advice for tracking down another print on relatively short notice?
