Our former dealers may still have limited supplies on hand Does anybody have a contact to clive Tobin? I wrote at : Film to DVD @ Comcast.net, (only adress i found on the Website) Roger, where did you get your Timeflow motors? the Revolution Motor is made from the same Company, http://www.intervalometers.com/rev/bolex/ , But I can t reach them by phone (answer machine) nor by email... does anybody know some shops/dealers where I could try to find discontinued products? ebay isn't very helpfull in this regard- best, Guillaume. -- ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks -- No virus found in this message. Re: [Frameworks] Super 8 frames blown up to photo prints!
The device is a 'Duplikin II' made by Century Precision Cine/Optics. It can be fitted with various adapters to suit a particular 35mm SLR. Results aren't likely to be as good as a direct scan of the Super 8 film, but it avoids having to cut the film. - Original Message - From: Ken Paul Rosenthal To: Frameworks Postings Sent: Tuesday, November 26, 2013 12:29 PM Subject: [Frameworks] Super 8 frames blown up to photo prints! Use a 'duplican', which is a tube that fits onto a 35mm camera body. There is a door/window at the end where a 16mm strip of film can be positioned on any one frame. So the area that gets photographed will be larger than one super 8mm frame. But once you digitize the camera negative at any finer photo shop, you can crop out what you don't want on your home computer. Re: [Frameworks] Super 8 frames blown up to photo prints!
I've done this with Super 8 reversal film by cutting out the frames I wanted to print (a strip of six inches or so) and scanning the strip in my Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III (intended for 35mm transparencies and 35mm negative strips). As you suggest, you'd need to have access to telecine equipment of some sort if cutting the film isn't an option. - Original Message - From: Cherry Kino To: forum labo ; frameworks@jonasmekasfilms.com Sent: Monday, November 25, 2013 5:04 PM Subject: [Frameworks] Super 8 frames blown up to photo prints! H people! So, ok, I have a question. I want to make prints of a few choice Super 8 film frames, and I don't know how the heck to go about it. I'd like the prints to vary - some about 12 inches across, others 24 inches across, some maybe even bigger. I'm guessing… It's probably a case of getting a high quality digital scan (how?!) and then sending it to a printer… I'd like to get it done as a C-type print (which replicates the photographic process)… but this is super costly so it might need to be a digital print. If anyone has experience with this, pretty please let me know how to do it! I'm rubbish with digital scanning etc so really need to be given a clue. A big clue. :))) Cheers people! xxx Martha Jurksaitis Analogue Film and Photography Artist M: 07935 916 560 -- ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks -- No virus found in this message. [Frameworks] 50mm EL-Nikkor for JK Optical Printer
The lens is for a JK optical printer. Do you know, by chance, if those on eBay ( identified as enlarger lenses) have the same thread mount for the typical JK bellows? (larger diameter than C mount). Thanks for the eBay link, too. much obliged, Julie Yes, the 50mm EL-Nikkor lenses have an M39 thread and will fit the adaptor on the JK bellows (I've got a K-104 optical printer and previously owned a K-103). Any 50mm EL-Nikkor with an M39 thread will work.___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
Re: [Frameworks] Pushing Film - Adjusting aperture
Meter the scene/subject at 400 with the camera's master switch set to Auto, then set the switch to Manuel, closing the aperture one stop for 800 and two stops for 1600. - Original Message - From: Shumona Goel To: Experimental Film Discussion List Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2012 1:26 PM Subject: [Frameworks] Pushing Film - Adjusting aperture Dear Friends, I am shooting super 8 with a Beaulieu 4008 Zm. I do not have a separate/ external light meter. I am relying on the built in light meter. The Emulsion speed setting system only allows for 50, 100, 200, or 400 ASA. If I set the Emulsion speed setting system to 400 ASA but I want to push the film to 800 or 1600 ASA, how should i adjust the aperture so that it would be accommodating for 800 ASA or 1600 ASA? Many thanks, Shumona -- ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks -- No virus found in this message. Re: [Frameworks] My latest UltraPan8 sketch Can Cruiser Red
Nicholas The colors are warm and vivid - just like Kodachrome - complementing the subject matter nicely. Good job! What focal length lens was used on the close-ups of the front wheel? Old bikes are becoming quite popular if the number of Flickr members posting images of them is any indication.
