[Frameworks] Long shot: Looking for Canon Scoopic 16m

2020-04-27 Thread Robert Withers
Hi Mike,
I believe DuAll Camera in NYC may sell these since they have serviced my
earlier model and have asked to buy it from me.
Good luck,
Robert

[Frameworks] Long shot: Looking for Canon Scoopic 16m (Mike Stoltz)

2020-04-27 Thread Dana Duff
Hi Mike, I have a beloved Scoopic of that type you could borrow in a
pinch since we live so close to each other. But doesn't Echo Park Film
Center still have a couple of good ones? Renting theirs is what led me
to buy my own. xo Dana

Often seen these on eBay surprisingly inexpensive. Much less than a Bolex
rx 2 or 3.
sure you’ve already checked such.
Past couple years quite surprised their eBay price.

Chambless almost always has them, and Chambless will do competent refurb
jobs on them. Of course, you have to pay Chambless prices but that is how
it goes.

You do know that there are plenty of other reflex cameras out there besides
the Scoopic and the Bolex, right?

[Frameworks] Long shot: Looking for Canon Scoopic 16m

2020-04-25 Thread Mike Stoltz
Hi all,

I hope that this e-mail finds everyone safe and relatively sane in this
wild time.

This is a shot in the dark but I am wondering if anyone in the US has a
line on a Canon Scoopic 16M or MS (the black camera with the black
rectangular case, not the earlier regular Scoopic with grey body and silver
case) that is in proper working order and is for sale? Do you have one
lying around? What would be your price to let it go.

I am very familiar with these cameras so to the heads on here please save
your time trying to talk me out of buying one, this camera does things my
Bolex cannot and vice versa, and I know they are difficult/impossible to
repair. I'm looking to replace one that has come to the end of its run and
hoping to purchase from someone with knowledge of film cameras rather than
a random ebayer,

Let me know if you have any leads, and thanks
