Hi Esperanza,

This happened to me once but I the take up reel was also not working and I 
realized that I had it selected as STILL rather than RUN on top. I'm not sure 
what else it could be other than that? Hope it helps!

I used moviestuff's older projector based line for 8, Super8, & 16 at the 
digital transfer lab I used to work at and they worked well except when having 
to transfer older, more brittle reels. 

Lately Ive just been setting the shutter speed on my camera as low as it can 
go, still a bit of flicker, but a nice, aesthetically pleasing result:
