[Free60-Devel] Swap boot method discovered and working!

2006-01-14 Thread Justus
Well, right now they've checked it with backups, but I have strong feeling
that custom code could be run through that hole.

[Free60-Devel] Strange statement on X36 SDK...

2006-01-10 Thread Justus
Please take a look here
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/dev/developingforxbox360.htm

At this time, access to development tools for the Xbox 360™ video game
console is limited to developers working on approved titles for
licensed publishers.
!!This will change over time, so check back for more information in
the future.!!

Does it mean that MS will open SDK for indie developers?

2005-12-29 Thread Justus
Well, on the early stage of hacking the X360, the aims of both parties
are the same - to recover all the protection schemes.

Yep, but after initial authentication operating system continues
further authentication, comparable a bit to PC protections like
Securom etc..
It uses rather large protection data blocks.
To emulate it we need something more than DVDrom firmware patching.
More simple way is and additional chipmodding..

Yes, that is the point.. I agree.

XEX files are signed... and that is the next problem..

Really hope so...

Re: [Free60-Devel] Hacking DVD Firmware

2005-12-24 Thread Justus
Well, they are assuming the false statement - that DVD-disk secure
check is done by the DVD drive. That is not true.

However, we theoretically can emulate disk protection scheme like
DaemonTools or Alcohole do with PC, but this will require additional
processing board attached to drive..

And the last but not least. NO, this will NOT help run linux on X360...

Well, I can say that probability of that article is true is 50%,
