Sim pois muitos ports utilizam dependencias como autoconf, bison..etcc

Em vez de atualizar por csup utilize portsnap..muito mais rápido e fácil

Instalei através do port um aplicativo de segurança em especifico o 
vulnerability-test-port-2005.09.21,
mas está dúvida serve para todas as intalações realizadas via ports. 
Gostaria de saber depois de
instalado como faço para verificar qual o executavel ? e documentação 
dos mesmos ?

onde o -x diz pra procurar por pacotes que contenham a ocorrencia 
nomedoport, serve pra vc nao precisar digitar o nome do port inteiro, com 
a versao.

onde o -L diz pra listar os arquivos instalados pelo port nomedoport

ex.:

# pkg_info -xL unzip

Oi,

você pode listar todos os arquivos instalados pelo port de algumas
maneiras:

pkg_info -L nome do pacote
cat /var/db/pkg/nome do pacote/+CONTENTS

Os executáveis serão provavelmente os arquivos nos diretórios bin
ou sbin e em geral os principais tem nomes associados ao nome do port.

Pode ser mais prático e dar um grep:

grep /var/db/pkg/nome do pacote/+CONTENTS


Analogamente documentação se encontrará em diretórios doc em
geral abaixo de diretórios share, tipo, /usr/local/share/doc ou
/usr/share/doc ou /usr/X11R6/share/doc
