2018-06-07 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=228820

Bug ID: 228820
Summary: Incorrect value of ARG_TERMID_ADDR in
sys/security/audit/audit.h
   Product: Base System
   Version: CURRENT
  Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
  Severity: Affects Some People
  Priority: ---
 Component: kern
  Assignee: b...@freebsd.org
  Reporter: anik...@iitk.ac.in

The definition of "ARG_TERMID_ADDR" macro assigns it a value of

0x0040ULL

which is already assigned to "ARG_SADDRUNIX" a line above.

This change was accidentally introduced in rS168688.

This seems like a useful capability. Paul, are you still interested in
implementing this? I'd be interested in helping get this implemented.

By the way, I tried looking at the email message archive mentioned in the
Description, but I can't get to it. There is some sort of "back end fetch"
failure.

[Bug 228817] ZFS zpool create -n does not show cache devices

2018-06-07 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=228817

Bug ID: 228817
Summary: ZFS zpool create -n does not show cache devices
   Product: Base System
   Version: CURRENT
  Hardware: amd64
OS: Any
Status: New
  Severity: Affects Many People
  Priority: ---
 Component: bin
  Assignee: b...@freebsd.org
  Reporter: b...@freebsd.org

zpool create -n shows log devices in the dry-run output, but not cache devices.

Steps to reproduce:
# truncate -s 1g disk1
# truncate -s 1g disk2

This output is correct:
# zpool create -n apool `pwd`/disk1 log `pwd`/disk2
would create 'apool' with the following layout:

apool
  /home/bcr/disk1
logs
  /home/bcr/disk2

The same command with cache instead of log produces output that is missing the
cache device.

# zpool create -n apool `pwd`/disk1 cache `pwd`/disk2
would create 'apool' with the following layout:

apool
  /home/bcr/disk1

The behavior is the same with physical devices, too. Tested on FreeBSD 11.1 and
on 12-CURRENT-r334665.

Since the IFLIB conversion of these drivers, Big Endian system (power, sparc64)
no longer function reliably. This is probably due to no runtime testing on
these platforms due to lack of interest and availability of reasonably modern
hardware.

This is a tracking bug to ensure that we don't drop this on the floor for users
of BE systems.

[Bug 228804] LACP synchronization flag set incorrectly in lacp_sm_rx_record_pdu()

2018-06-07 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=228804

Bug ID: 228804
Summary: LACP synchronization flag set incorrectly in
lacp_sm_rx_record_pdu()
   Product: Base System
   Version: 10.2-RELEASE
  Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
  Severity: Affects Some People
  Priority: ---
 Component: kern
  Assignee: b...@freebsd.org
  Reporter: sp.bala...@gmail.com

According to IEEE 802.1AX, record PDU determines the synchronization state
of the partner considering the partner's view of its synchronization state
as well. But lacp_sm_rx_record_pdu() still does not validate if partner has
set its synchronization state to true in the PDU before updating its view of
the partner. LACP strict mode has broken this function and seems to be
incorrectly
applied.

[Bug 228801] 12.0

2018-06-07 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=228801

For anyone unwilling to take risks of unpacking the archive, I already did that
in a safe environment. The archive contains three pictures that can be
summarized as the kernel failed to mount the root filesystem from the
installation USB media.
The error is CAM status 0x50. Apparently it comes from umass.c:
ccb->ccb_h.status = CAM_REQ_CMP_ERR | CAM_DEV_QFRZN;

This bug is security relevant, because it may disclose the content of a session
to somebody without an account but physical access to the machine. They can
see parts of the last session simply by scrolling back in the terminal, even
without the need to login.
