https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=238550 Bug ID: 238550 Summary: Touchpad not working - Synaptics, Elantech - Acer Aspire V3-371 Product: Base System Version: 12.0-RELEASE Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: misc Assignee: b...@freebsd.org Reporter: michal+free...@kilijanek.pl Created attachment 205040 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=205040=edit dmseg output This issue is similar to: Bug 238291, but Acer Aspire V3-371 has no trackpoint. Touchpad is not working (at all; cursor is not moving) in Acer Aspire V3-371. I tried various solutions corresponding to synaptics and elantech, but with no effect. I can use USB mouse, but no touchpad. I have tried patch from https://reviews.freebsd.org/D20507 - no effect, touchpad is dead. I also can't see psm0 device. When using the same disk on second laptop (Lenovo Y570) I don't observe any issue with touchpad. The same goes for other OSes on Acer Aspire V3-371 (so touchpad is not at fault). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ freebsd-bugs@freebsd.org mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-bugs To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-bugs-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"
[Bug 233853] 12.0-RC3 ntpd leap second file expired
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=233853 --- Comment #2 from Michael Laß --- I recently reinstalled my system from the 12.0-RELEASE image. Indeed the provided ntpd.lead-seconds.list is expired. However, you can easily update it using "service ntpd onefetch". Also, this is typically performed automatically once a day by /etc/periodic/daily/480.leapfile-ntpd, so I think it's mostly a cosmetic issue.

[Bug 234538] freebsd-update hangs on upgrade from 11.2p7 to 12.0 on Google Compute Engine
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=234538 --- Comment #4 from Morgan Vandagriff --- I discovered a workaround which may be of interest: the issue observed with freebsd-update is apparently related to behavior of the py27-google-compute-engine package installed by default on the FreeBSD GCE images. If one uninstalls the package prior to upgrading, all proceeds normally. I have a theory that the issue may proceed from py-google-compute-engine's tendency to overwrite certain files in /etc every few seconds whenever it is running. While I'm lacking an understanding of the internals of freebsd-update, it seems plausible that this could somehow give rise to the hangs I observed.
