Yes backout recent changes to sys/dev/sound/pcm/channel.c. (a few days)

How does one backout changes? I thought once it was committed, and the
make world process is complete, it was just that: committed.

There was a large-ish thread about this on -committers too...

VT520 support

2000-06-11 Thread Otter

Does FreeBSD support the vt520? I've looked around in documentation,
but haven't been able to find anything about it. If it isn't yet, I could
probably get my hands on a spare (note single, not plural) if someone is
seriously interested in supporting it. TIA.

I hate to send "me too" emails, but i think it's the driver. My SB
Live has worked great until last night, when i caught my source up to
date. I was running on source from 6/4 which worked fine. I'm going to
check it out again in a bit to see if it's been updated. I recommend
you do the same.

ok. that seems to have cured the problem in "make depend", but now i'm

actually, it seems that the "make includes" resolved my problem.
Usually, i'll make buildworld, crank out a new kernel, then make

Kernel making problems

2000-05-25 Thread Otter

Running 5.0 source from 5/19/00, I cvsupped tonight, as I have the
last few nights. I'm able to do a make buildworld, but I get errors on
doing at "make depend" for the kernel. Did I miss something recently
with this aicasm_gram.y file or is this still in the works? error
shown below is the last bits of my "make depend". I know it's barfing
on SCSI code, but I need my ahc driver.

John,
Would this have anything to do with the ports upgrade recently? I
notice I get errors trying to make some things, so I've just grabbed
the tarball and done the job myself. I've found someimes I get an
error:

# make install

(This port is too old for your bsd.port.mk, please update it to match
 your bsd.port.mk.)

Yeah, I've done the cvsup thing several times, but there are still
some ports with this error. Should I be pointing them out to port
maintainers or is this an on-going fix due to the change? I'm not one
claiming "I know what's going on" as you had hoped. I'm just some putz
who has had a problem with some ports recently.

Subject: /dev/dsp device not configured

 how can I configure/reconfigure /dev/dsp under FreeBSD 4.0??

Did you /dev/MAKEDEV snd0?

 I keep getting
a message stating that the device is not configured!! furthermore my
soundcard isn't working right when it should be!! I've also attached my
dmesg and kernel config. BTW, I'm currnetly using 5.0-CURRENT as of last
night (BUT THAT ISN't the cause of this so plz.. DON'T TELL ME IT IS
without
a decent explaination!!!) I've also tried this in 4.0 and 3.4. I'm using
an
ESS 1869 pnp (with the sbc sound adapter). Also, I'm running Xfree86 3.3.6
which I've had some issues with in the past (could this be the cause?).
below is my dmesg and Kernel

 thanks
 -Cosmic-665

P.S. is there a newsgroup for -CURRNET?? what is the address??

 here's my dmesg;
