It's not clear what you think the problem is, but the start date of
kernel threads being the Epoch is a bug that has existed for a long
time now.

That seems to be an older bug than today (Jan 25 2003).  I have just
reverted my /usr/src to 2003/01/12 18:00:00 UTC and the bug was
already there :(
