Isn't a core dump something you could easily get a stack trace
from?  This could give more clues than "it doesn't work" ...

I cvsup'ed -current yesterday into my living 6 months
old -current, built world, tweaked here and there to get
kernel config file working, disk devide nodes etc.
am up and running again but locate dumps core at the end
of the list of found files.
