BROKEN_KEYBOARD_RESET
Is this the kernel setting to dislable ctrl-alt-delete from resetting a systtem? If so it seems to be broken in 4.0-RELEASE. is there another way of doing this? remaping keyboard perhaps? # BROKEN_KEYBOARD_RESET disables the use of the keyboard controller to # reset the CPU for reboot. This is needed on some systems with broken # keyboard controllers. Re:BROKEN_KEYBOARD_RESET
Sorry for the stupid quiestion. I figured it out from LINT that is the options SC_DISABLE_REBOOT # disable reboot key sequence Thanks Richard Puga [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe: send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
Xircom Card
I just cvsuped and built a kernel as of Sun Apr 30 03:20:08 HST 2000. Despite the probing which goes on when I insert the card and somtimes shortly after I ifconfig it, the Xircom 16bit card seems to work fine. I also have a Card Buss Xircom card which I could also test with. RP [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe: send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
Re: Xircom cards
I cvsuped to 5.0-current and am trying the Xircom driver now. I want to provide as much information as needed. below is information on how I built my kernel and various configuration files. Upon insertion I get the below message. and although I can see the card with netstat -in as soon as I run ifconfig it page faults. Also with -current my second PCMCIA controller dosn't work so I have it disabled in the kernel config. Ill keep checking for updated drivers and patches.. Hope this info helps. I have a Ricoh Majio laptop with 3 PCMCIA slots (2 controllers) which support cardbus and legacy. I have them in legacy mode. If there is any more info I should provide please let me know.. 4.0 using dd and cdroms
I have tried using dd on serveral 4.0 systems in order to capture an image off a cdrom. I tried dd if=/dev/acd0a of=file.img as well as on a scsi system (/dev/cd0a) and eovery other cd device (/dev/acd0c /cdv/racd0c /dev/cd0c ect) and I get dd: /dev/acd0a Bad address 0+0 records in 0+0 records out 0 bytes transferd yada yada yada I have tried to remake the devices to to no avail. Another strange thing is that on one of the systems with an atapi cdrom when doing the dd it started the drive spinning and the drive never stoped unil I pressed the eject button. I am not sure if this is a problem with dd or what.. Just thought I'd put this out there.. Intel 810/BookPC
Sorry if this is a repost but I didnt see it come throug yet and my mail was screwed up. I am working with a BookPC whith an intel 810 all in one chipset. I was wondering if there was planned support for the sound and if someone has heard anyting about the Xfree86 (linux) LKM being ported to FreeBSD. Thanks in advance RP [EMAIL PROTECTED] PS I have heard that the i810 chipset isnt so hot but concider what you get for a wholesale cost of $145.00 Case, MB, 52X-cdrom, 1.44flp, 8meg AGP video, 10/100NIC, onboard sound, 56k Winmodem (crap but consistant enough crap may be worthy of driver) TV out and S-Video out, keyboard 3 button mouse speakers and power supply. add RAM, HD and CPU (up to 550mhz) and you have a nifty work station. just a thought... WaveLAN broken (repost)
this message may have been posted to hacks but I didnt see it come through. I greatly apreciate any help. I have a WaveLAN ISA adaptor. I am trying to run it in a machine equiped with an AMD K6-2 350 processor running at 66mhz bus speed. I am getting the following error while ifconfiging the card. ifconfig wl0 192.168.10.1 wl0: diag() failed; status = 0, inw = 0, outw = e0a0 wl0: diag() failed; status = 0, inw = 0, outw = e0a0 scb_status a000 scb_status a000 scb_command 0 scb_command 0 scb_cbl ffc0 scb_cbl ffc0 cu_cmd 8007 cu_cmd 8007 wl0 init(): trouble resetting board. wl0 init(): trouble resetting board. I belive the issure is some kind of timeing problem because the dos drivers and ptpdiag work and the card works with freebsd in other machines. I have tried about everything I can think of I have set machdep.wl_xmit_delay: up and down as well as played with clock speeds of the CPU and motherboard as well as bios wait states, pnp settings ect. and differant wavelan cards. I even reset the factory setting off 0x300 irq 10 to other ones just to be sure.. I have tried the drivers in 3.0 3.1 and 4.0 current they all do the same thing.. thease are the current dmesg settings wl0 at 0x390-0x39f irq 5 on isa wl0: address 08:00:6a:2b:e3:30, NWID 0x5262, Freq 2422 MHz and the wlconfig info... cray100 /root 6% wlconfig wl0 Board type: ISA Base address options : 0x300, 0x390, 0x3c0, 0x3e0 Waitstates: 0 Bus mode : ISA IRQ : 5 Default MAC address : 08:00:6a:2b:e3:30 Soft MAC address : 00:00:00:00:00:00 Current MAC address : Default Adapter compatability : PCCARD or 1/2 size AT, 915MHz or 2.4GHz Threshold preset : 1 Call code required: NO Subband : 915MHz/see WaveModem Quality threshold : 3 Hardware version : 1 (Rel3) Network ID enable : YES NWID : 0x5262 Datalink security : NO Databus width : 16 (variable) Configuration state : unconfigured CRC-16: 0xaba1 CRC status: OK If anyone can help in any way or point me to someone who might I would greatly apreciate it.
