Upgrading MySQL port
I need to upgrade the older generation of MySQL from 3x to 4x and without loss of the existing DBs. What's the best approach of doing this when jumping a generation in MySQL and keeping DBs safe in the process? Many thanks for you advice! What's the best approach of doing this when jumping a generation in MySQL and keeping DBs safe in the process? This is really not a question for -ports. This is something you should be asking the MySQL folks. In fact, better yet, there's an entire section on how to backup/restore entire databases. FreeBSD Port: linux-xorg-libs-6.8.2_5
Hello After installation of Xorg 7.2 and a complete rebuild of linux-emulation on FreeBSD 6.2 Stable, X related linux programms like skype, linux-relplayer or acroread doesn't start. Trying to start skype, linux-relplayer or acroread ends with a Segmentation fault message. Is it possible that the linux xorg libraries conflicts with the Xorg 7.2? PR ports/114066: Kmail crashes
I have posted PR 114066 regarding regular crashes from kmail. In using the send pr www version I attached the gdb output as which had been compressed to bring it below the file size limit. When browsing the PR on line I see the file has not been decompressed to make it readable. Can anyone fix that so the gdb log is readable on line. Alternatively anyone who cares to take a look at this PR can email me for a copy. A log of the compile of kdepim3 is also available if that would be useful. Hopefully someone who is familiar with kmail might be able to take a look at this. Kmail is the only port that crashes on this system. Help needed with GUI for devel/gdb6
Hello! The newly updated devel/gdb6 now has an option to build the debugger GUI (Insight). It builds, but the GUI is broken, because instead of using the ancient version of ITk/ITcl bundled with Insight, I chose to rely on the itk and itcl ports. If you know [incr tcl] (object-oriented extension for Tcl), and are interested in helping out, please, build the port with the GUI-option on and try to make it run (resolve the Tcl errors popping up, when accessing menu buttons, etc.) by modifying the scripts under ${PREFIX}/lib/insight1.0 Thanks! -mi ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
portsnap - latest.ssl not found
Every once in a while I get the following when doing an update of the ports tree via portsnap: Looking up portsnap.FreeBSD.org mirrors... using portsnap3.FreeBSD.org. Fetching snapshot tag... fetch: http://portsnap3.FreeBSD.org./latest.ssl: Not Found Failed. Every time the error has occurred, it has been with portsnap3.FreeBSD.org. If I run portsnap again it usually rotates to a different portsnap mirror and everything is fine. FreeBSD Port: quagga-0.99.7_2 - quagga restartting is broken ?
Hi Boris, I have a problem with restarting quagga by our script for a long time, I guess since that time when the script was moved from /etc/rc.d/ to /usr/local/etc/rc.d/. And before this major change each restarting of quagga was successful. I can swear on it. :) When I restart quagga, the router is unreachable at once, the last message before ssh client is kicked out: # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga restart Stopping quagga. PuTTY (inactive) to be illustrative :) I can reach to the router from another host which is in the same network like my router fortunately. And what I see ? # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga status quagga is running as pid 1164. quagga is running as pid 802. From ps aux: # ps aux | grep ospfd quagga 802 0.0 2.7 4704 3260 ?? Ss2:38AM 0:04.24 /usr/local/sbin/ospfd -d # ps aux | grep zebra quagga 1665 3.2 2.0 3868 2508 ?? Ss3:05AM 0:15.89 /usr/local/sbin/zebra -d So I begin to repeat restarting again: # /../rc.d/quagga restart Stopping quagga. Starting quagga. # /../rc.d/quagga status quagga is running as pid 1251. quagga is running as pid 802. # /../rc.d/watchquagga stop Stopping watchquagga. # /../rc.d/quagga restart Stopping quagga. Starting quagga. # /../rc.d/quagga status quagga is running as pid 1396. quagga is running as pid 802. So zebra daemon is definitely stopped and started. But something wrong is with ospfd, it has the same PID like before. When I do clean stop-status-start-status sequence, quagga works well again. # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga stop Stopping quagga. Stopping quagga. # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga status quagga is not running. quagga is not running. # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga start Starting quagga. Starting quagga. # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga status quagga is running as pid 1868. quagga is running as pid 1874. And for be sure: # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga restart Stopping quagga. Waiting for PIDS: 1868. Starting quagga. # /usr/local/etc/rc.d/quagga status quagga is running as pid 2343. quagga is running as pid 1874. # ps aux | grep ospfd quagga 1874 0.0 2.7 4668 3264 ?? Ss3:17AM 0:00.64 /usr/local/sbin/ospfd -d root2368 0.0 0.8 1608 1012 p1 R+3:18AM 0:00.02 grep ospfd During this time, the routing table is half-empty or almost empty, unlike the time when quagga works well with 200 and more routes. So tell me please, what is wrong here ? Bye Dan ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
