poudriere, pkgng, memcache and php upgrades
We use memcache with php. When php gets updated, memcache gets rebuilt by poudriere, but pkgng doesn't see it as being different on 'pkg upgrade' so it doesn't upgrade the package. Which means that on apache restart the error log contains: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/20100525/memcache.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/20100525/memcache.so: Undefined symbol quot;php_session_create_idquot; in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/20100525/memcached.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/20100525/memcached.so: Undefined symbol quot;ps_globalsquot; in Unknown on line 0 'pkg upgrade -f' solves the problem, but is there maybe another way? ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to freebsd-ports-unsubscr...@freebsd.org

There's no version number bump on the memcache port so the new package is not seen as newer than the installed version. I wish there was an elegant solution other than force the dependant ports have their version numbers bumped every time the dependency (the php port) gets updated. -Kimmo ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to freebsd-ports-unsubscr...@freebsd.org

Re: GNOME 3 and MATE
Wow!! I did not switched to gnome3 even on laptop linux because of a lot of new things that are uncompatible with gnome2, indeed, I have built a gnome2 enviroment for linux (archlinux) running on the latest kernel (3.9.10). works like a charm. Now the list points me to the Mate desktop, that is just wat I was waiting for,... Even with gnome2.32 I have not found an application that does not runs on the 2.32 version, Congratulations to the Mate team... I will build a FreeBSD distribution based on Mate this week...
