[FreeBSD-Ports-Announce] [HEADS UP] 9.2 Package Set / Branching plan

2013-08-09 Thread Bryan Drewery
We are trying something different for 9.2. Instead of placing a freeze
or slush on HEAD, we will just create a branch and leave HEAD alone. The
idea is to lessen the long freeze/slush on head and move us towards
quicker ports releases.

This branch will be created on August 12th. Please be cautious with the
tree until then so it remains stable. Normally we would make this an
official slush period, but we are behind schedule on this and have not
given enough notice.

The 9.2 branch will be frozen [1]. Only license, build, security and
critical fixes will be allowed in the 9.2 branch. All changes must be
approved by portmgr@ to the branch with a commit line of:

Approved by:portmgr (name)

This may require slight rework of patches when applied to the branch as
it may deviate far from head. The idea is to apply the minimal amount of
changes to the branch to stabilize and secure it.

Portmgr will have no sweeping slush policy on head, but other teams may
wish to enact such a policy on their ports. I.e., kde or gnome ports may
want to have a slush to make their job easier should a large security
update come out during the rc2-release phase. We leave that to
individual teams.

Summary:

* We will copy /head to /branches/RELENG_9_2_0 on August 12th
* HEAD is open to all commits (no slush or sweeping policy)
* Only portmgr-approved changes may go into /branches/ under the
frozen tree policy [1]
* Only license, build, security and critical fixes are allowed
* Packages will be built from /branches/RELENG_9_2_0

At least security/gnupg1, I've updated to 1.4.14 just after announce
released.

2013/8/10 Andrew andre...@hush.ai

Hi all. GPG and libgcrypt were updated for security problems,
 http://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnupg-announce/2013q3/000330.html

but I still don't see this update in ports. The vuXML entry:
 http://www.vuxml.org/freebsd/80771b89-f57b-11e2-bf21-b499baab0cbe.html

Can we get it updated please?

Re: [cft] net/boinc-client update to 7.0.65

2013-08-09 Thread René Ladan
2013/8/6 René Ladan r...@freebsd.org:
 Hi,

Andrey submitted ports/176724 which contains a big update to the
net/boinc-client port. The somewhat modified result is attached as a
patch. If you are running the astro/boinc-astropulse or
astro/boinc-setiathome-enhanced port then you will need to patch those
 to (otherwise they won't build).

Oops, an error crept into boinc-client.diff, the corrected version is attached.

I also made a diff against /usr/ports/UIDs and /usr/ports/GIDs for the
new boinc user.

I build-tested the port with a variety of options on a variety of
platforms (8-10-i386, 9-amd64, 10-armv6), all seems fine. So far,
run-testing with just the CLIENT and USER options seems to work fine too.

The patch is based on the second inline update, differences are (per item):
 2. minor changes
 3. use USERS and GROUPS to create the boinc user and group instead of
manually creating them. Some cleanups might be needed here.
4,5. No need to remember CLIENT option in pkg-install
 6. POST-INSTALL target dropped, this is automated by the USERS and
 GROUPS variables
 7. Keep all skins and the SKINS option, I feel this is an issue that
 should be discussed upstream.
 10. minor changes
 14. do not set NO_NET_INFO to keep the current behavior

The tarball was created differently, instead of running the scripts it
was created by cloning the git repository and leaving out the files
mentioned in the file leftout in the top directory. This also means
more invocations of autotools at build time.

The OPTIMIZE option does not work properly with boinc-7.0.28 and has its
 own problem report.

To summarize, tests with non-default options (NO_NET_INFO, NO_GUI_RPC,
graphical options) and reviews would be appreciated.

 Regards,
 René

www/seamonkey problem after update

2013-08-09 Thread Gary Palmer

Hi,

After rebuilding seamonkey after r324409 it keeps coredumping before it even
shows a window. I can't even install www/seamonkey-i18n as you can see
below.

9.1-RELEASE-p3 amd64

I've done 'portmaster -f www/seamonkey' to rebuild all the dependant ports
also with no luck

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gary

libgcrypt security

2013-08-09 Thread Andrew
Hi all. GPG and libgcrypt were updated for security problems,
http://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnupg-announce/2013q3/000330.html

but I still don't see this update in ports. The vuXML entry:
http://www.vuxml.org/freebsd/80771b89-f57b-11e2-bf21-b499baab0cbe.html

Can we get it updated please?
