Re: manpath change for ports ?

What do you think? This sounds good to me. I seem to recall that most(?) Linux distros used /usr/man many years ago, but they switched to /usr/share/man, I think in the early 2000s. If that's correct, then I consider our /usr/local/man path a historical curiosity that should finally be changed to /usr/local/share/man. Do you mean, why do they do /usr/bin/vim - /etc/alternatives/vim - /usr/bin/vim.gtk instead of /usr/bin/vim - /usr/bin/vim.gtk ? Someone's choice of a vi-like editor would be considered configuration, so it belongs in /etc. I agree, it does sound like a good solution. If Eric is busy, then I will update this port tomorrow. Regards, Rong-En Fan I haven't had time to look at it. Rong-En, perhaps you should go ahead and update the port. Thanks for your work! Re: FreeBSD Port: R-2.4.1
Joey, Try removing any existing R installation before building 2.4.1. Also, reinstall all of R's dependencies -- blas and its dependents are now built with gfortran 4.2.0.
