Re: [Call For Testing] VirtualBox for FreeBSD!

2009-06-08 Thread Helko Glathe
Don't forget to read the instructions in the README file. You must add
system users to an appropriate system group called something like
virtualboxuseres... (I'm currently on a windows machine. So, i have no
chance to give you correct detailed instructions :-)

Also you must mount /proc

See detailed infos in the README file...

And then make a reboot before trying again..

No idea, lack details. Reinstall firefox3 with WITH_DEBUG=yes then run

Hi

My fault.
The pkgtools.conf had an entry to install firefox only via packages.
Know without this entry firefox was installed compiling the sources of the
port and the problem is not present.

The problem only occurs installing www/firefox3 using the package.

If you have an old profile from firefox1/2 in ${HOME}/.mozilla, you might
try moving that out of the way (i.e. mv ${HOME}/.mozilla
${HOME}/.mozilla.old), and starting firefox3 back up.

Or, if you're like me and have your workstation's homedir mounted via NFS,
just forget about Firefo3 entirely and stick with Firefox2. Apparently the
version of SQLite they're using internally with Firefox3 doesn't like
non-local file systems. This problem exhibited with OS X and AFP-mounted
homedirs as well. It's fixed in Minefield, but not yet in an official
Firefox release. I haven't got around to seeing if the firefox-devel port
has been updated or trying to build Minefield some other way yet.

 Thanks,

 Josh

I have no dirs mounted over nfs or some else remote dirs.

Disabling this options doesn't fix the problem.

Updating of pots db causes a dependency error

Before reporting this error, verify that you are running a supported
version of FreeBSD (see http://www.FreeBSD.org/ports/) and that you
have a complete and up-to-date ports collection. (INDEX builds are
not supported with partial or out-of-date ports collections -- in
particular, if you are using cvsup, you must cvsup the ports-all
collection, and have no refuse files.) If that is the case, then
report the failure to [EMAIL PROTECTED] together with relevant
details of your ports configuration (including FreeBSD version,
your architecture, your environment, and your /etc/make.conf
settings, especially compiler flags and WITH/WITHOUT settings).

Note: the latest pre-generated version of INDEX may be fetched
automatically with make fetchindex.

Does dmesg show anything suspicious while running application ?

No.

Also, just in case, try the patch below and report whether it helps.

I've applied the patch.
The result was:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] /usr/src]# patch i915_dma.diff
Hmm... Looks like a unified diff to me...
The text leading up to this was:

Hi.

I've installed google-earth. Everytime starting googleearth the complete
system freezes after few minutes while googleearth is running.
My computer has an Intel 82945GM (945GM GMCH) graphic device.
I've also tried to use the intel driver and i810 driver in my xorg.conf. But
behaviour of googleearth is the same.

FreeBSD Port: linux-xorg-libs-6.8.2_5

2007-06-27 Thread Helko Glathe

Hello

After installation of Xorg 7.2 and a complete rebuild of linux-emulation
on FreeBSD 6.2 Stable,
X related linux programms like skype, linux-relplayer or acroread
doesn't start.

Trying to start skype, linux-relplayer or acroread ends with a
Segmentation fault message.

Is it possible that the linux xorg libraries conflicts with the Xorg 7.2?

Thank in advance,
Helko
