Hi there, i'm still using teTeX port and i'm desperate to upgrade to something more up-to-date and so made a first attempt yesterday to install your binaries but somehow got it wrong, or at least it didn't appear to work for me. I extracted them into /usr/local/texlive/2009/bin/i386-freebsd7/ and updated my path, which is how I understood it needed to be done from reading the README.txt; however, this did not work for me. I wonder, would you be able to help by explaining the steps needed to install them properly? up-to-now i've only ever used ports to install software and i'm not familiar with installing binaries on FreeBSD Jamie pgpmp3XI4GDI3.pgp Description: PGP signature
[Announce] Maintained TeXLive (2009 and devel) binaries for FreeBSD-6,7,8 available
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: RIPEMD160 Dear all, The TeXLive binaries for FreeBSD 6, 7 and 8, for i386 and amd64 each, are available for download. I will maintain binary sets for TeXLive 2009; I will also regularly release binaries built from the current SVN TeXLive sources: TeXLive-2009 binaries: http://anthesphoria.net/FreeBSD/TeXLive-2009/bin ftp://tug.org/historic/systems/texlive/2009 Binaries from the current sources: http://anthesphoria.net/FreeBSD/TeXLive-Devel/ (bin-r${SVNVER} directories). Please refer to the respective README.txt files for more details. These binary packs are for people who want to use official TeXLive distribution without compiling. (As you all know, TeXLive-2009 was released without FreeBSD binaries; hopefully, this will be changed for TL2010). If you encounter problems running these binaries, don't hesitate to write to me and/or to the TeXLive mailing list. Romain Tartière's excellent freebsd-texlive project (http://code.google.com/p/freebsd-texlive/) provides you a way to use TeXLive distribution in the form of FreeBSD ports -- Romain, thanks for everything you have done so far! So if you want _integrated_ install (TeXLive fully integrated with the rest of Ports Collection), please refer to Romain's work. - -- Nikola Lečić = Никола Лечић fingerprint : FEF3 66AF C90E EDC3 D878 7CDC 956D F4AB A377 1C9B -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v2.0.13 (FreeBSD) iJwEAQEDAAYFAksmbpIACgkQ/MM/0rYIoZiZ9wP9GWeo06RvhzDAt/+9qcOC5XZv SFyV1h2z6Rl8SJhUV5wH2ETo5TOyDGFGKNJTAU16SVjLi2tTmvgmeM/kwIciHmuM Z3/JYBuX0vmshIeTUCTLq/pgJQ96n4Y3T+C3eyLB+/d+kxe6fRDlS+4Uixton731 jolkqge9nBQgmsJn4QI= =3b1+ -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to freebsd-ports-unsubscr...@freebsd.org
