I used azureus a long time ago, and liked it, but IIRC at the time it didn't scale very well when managing many torrents and its java dependencies were a pain. I tried several clients a few years ago and the one I liked best was qBittorrent. I'm pretty happy with "transmission", but I prefer to work from the command line (transmission-daemon, transmission-remote). Once one gets used to specify a torrent number like this: transmission-remote -t 20 -l (list information about the torrent file number 20) it is pretty easy to use.
