Acpi suspend - screen does not wake up

2012-10-24 Thread Frantisek Farka
Hi,

I have recently installed freebsd-9.1RC on my thinkpad t420i laptop and
I have run into some problems regarding acpi suspend/resume.

When I run

# acpiconf -s 3

Computer seem to suspend correctly, but when I wake it up, laptop seems
to resume correctly except the screen stays dark.

I have made dmesg dump after boot with verbose booting:

http://files.farka.eu/pub/fari-tpt420i.dmesg

and acpidump:

http://files.farka.eu/pub/fari-tpt420i.asl

I tried to boot without acpi, but the system did not boot at all.

I have also tried suspend with

# sysctl debug.acpi.suspend_bounce=1

and this is a resulting dmesg during suspend:

http://files.farka.eu/pub/fari-tpt420i.suspend

I haven't found any problem connected to LCD/screen or something like
that. Do you have any idea what to do in order to make suspend/resume
working?

Thanks

Frantisek Farka

it should be all there, even in an updated 9.0.

Did you update your system or did you keep it at the release level?

 Erich

I might have used just release version. But now I can wait for 9.1,
already looking forward to that.

Thanks for answer

freebsd-9.1 and Intel HD 3000

2012-09-30 Thread Frantisek Farka
Hello

I was using freebsd on my previous laptop and was very happy with it.
But on my current Thinkpad T420i the freebsd-9.0 version did not work
quiet well with Intel HD 3000 graphics, the resolution was limited
to only some 640x480.

Coluld anyone sum up current state of HD 3000 drivers on freebsd-9.1
for me? Does it work properly? I like to compile my system from source
and would really hate to spend all the time to find out that nothing
changed and I am still stuck with low resolution screen.

Thanks for your response
