gnome2 and packages cleanup
Hey everyone, I was installing gnome2 from the ports collection (on dial-up!) and it took like 3 days of constant work when it finally ran out of space on my /usr drive (only using a 6.4gig). I thought this would be more than enough, but alas... So I guess Gnome is too much for my wee system so I want to go back to using enlightenment. My issue is that now my system is full of packages that I don't need. How do I clean up my system of all of these packages without deleting packages that enlightenment uses?? External Modem Speaker
Hello everyone, Just wondered if there's a way to run my external modem without the speaker? It doesn't have a switch on it or anything, thought their might be a ppp command or FreeBSD command or something? Internet firewall
Hey guys, I'm a newbie and have got my box all set up with FreeBSD 5.4, fluxbox wm, firefox, thunderbird etc... It's all looking awesome, with transparency, and working well. I run it on dial-up ppp but haven't set up any firewall. Should I be setting one up? If so, do I use one of the bundled firewalls or can someone recommend one that would suit my purposes? This is a stand-alone box, not on a home network.
