Problem compiling helios-qmail
Hi! I'm trying install helios-qmail (http://helios-qmail.sourceforge.net/) which is based on qmail-sql (http://qmail-sql.digibel.be/) and I know for sure, that on FreeBSD 4.x it was possible to install it, but on FreeBSD 6.0 I receive during installation only this: ./compile qmail-getpw.c `cat sql.headers` In file included from sql.h:6, from qmail-getpw.c:17: /usr/include/unistd.h:356: error: conflicting types for 'read' readwrite.h:4: error: previous declaration of 'read' was here /usr/include/unistd.h:356: error: conflicting types for 'read' readwrite.h:4: error: previous declaration of 'read' was here /usr/include/unistd.h:370: error: conflicting types for 'write' readwrite.h:5: error: previous declaration of 'write' was here /usr/include/unistd.h:370: error: conflicting types for 'write' readwrite.h:5: error: previous declaration of 'write' was here qmail-getpw.c: In function `main': qmail-getpw.c:84: warning: return type of 'main' is not `int' *** Error code 1 and 'compile' is script containing this: #!/bin/sh # WARNING: This file was auto-generated. Do not edit! exec cc -O2 -c ${1+"$@"} 'sql.headers' only contains: -I/usr/local/include/mysql Any suggestions what to change for compiling this application? Thanks Petr PS: Helios-qmail is very promising and if I will be able to compile it on FreeBSD 6.0 I will try to make regular port... ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
mount_nullfs dangerous?
Hi! I want to use mount_nullfs on FreeBSD 6.0-STABLE AMD64 to share part of filesystem tree between different jails, but i found this in man pages for mount_nullfs: BUGS THIS FILE SYSTEM TYPE IS NOT YET FULLY SUPPORTED (READ: IT DOESN'T WORK) AND USING IT MAY, IN FACT, DESTROY DATA ON YOUR SYSTEM. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. BEWARE OF DOG. SLIPPERY WHEN WET. Is this still valid? Because there is date May 1, 1995 underneath, so it is near 11 years old warning!? FreeBSD 4.7 cannot fit to 200MB disk!!
Hello! I tried to install FreBSD 4.7 on i486@133 with 16MB of Ram and 200MB disk. W95 worked nice on that machine. I failed to install a minimal configuration of FreeBSD on such hardware!! Is it ok? I wanted only basic console... I noticed that many source files (*.h) were instaled to my disk. Is it ok?? From my point of view, instalation could be more scalable, minimal could be more minimal. This is not a big problem for me, I will run W95 on my old pc as I did. I was only suprised how big modern FreeBSD is. Is it necessary? I like new programs, more options, but I would like to have an option to add them only when I need them. Thanks for FreeBSD!
