Sound Driver

Starting KDE I always get this message. Then it just
stalls


Sound server informational message:
Error while ititializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (Device not
configured)
The sound server will continue using the null output device

startx doesn't work

I type startx and i get this msg before it
terminates

When reporting a problem related to a server crash,

I would like a tutorial on how to newtork freebsd to
windowsXP via linksys modem. i can ping the windowsXP
but i can't connect nor can i install mozilla. it
seems that it's not connecting to the internet. the
handbook gives good descriptions but not step by step
instructions.
please help a newbie. thanks
